Correct! An exact 1:3 Scale Go Fast Rocket Kit, 3” Diameter with a 54mm MMT, 5:1 conical nosecone and a 4.5” long aluminum tip. The rocket is 87.5” tall and dyed red and black. This rocket would be perfect for those that fly 54mm motors, collectors, or just want a scaled piece of history. Here’s a sneak peak of the beautiful nosecone for this rocket. It’ll have a 44” booster, 2” switchband, 24” Payload, and a 17.5” nosecone. 1E11D86D-DADD-4201-94CE-EB02E92CB70B.jpeg

Hey Buddy,
Not to be a pita, but rather just wondering if there is any news on the next shipment of av-bays?

I see somebodys been down a deep rabbit hole and are now fully versed on the history of elton john and movie characters in funny metal helmets as well....:D

speaking of SMT Designs bays... all the remaining bays will be in the mail to Rocketman on October 1st. I was going to do batches 2, 3 and 4, then Balls at Blackrock happened and I decided to just complete everything. I think this would have been batch four shipped out this week anyway. I will be working on assembly instructions which I expect to have available next week. I am headed to Alabama for BamaBlastOff this Wednesday and I don't expect to be able to work on much while I am away.

Just received the beautiful full wrap decal from Stickershock! Mark did a spectacular job, I had sent him one of the original back up decals from 2004, he scanned the entire thing and downsized it proportionally, it’s literally dead on from the original in every way. The decal is 66” long as it’ll be a near full wrap other than around the nosecone and fins

Thx for the update. Have fun at BAMA.

I will try my best! I am flying a Mach1 BT55 Devil Ray that I modified to a minimum diameter 29mm motor mount and a prototype dual deploy bay that I designed specifically for the BT55 air frames. It sims to 1600 feet on a G54 reload and 4000 feet on a H128. I need to make a tracker for it for even higher impulse motors. It should be entertaining... :)

Did you paint the fins before attaching them?

(NVM - I see the red between the masking tape in the photo)

The photo of the 4 fins laying flat shows a strip of natural fg at the root edge.
I couldn’t get Red G-10 in time to build this, so I had to pre paint mine as there was a 3 week wait on it. Although the actual kits will have the red G-10, the fins are 1/8” so plenty strong. Evert single rocket kit I do, will not require paint. It’s so much easier that way for the consumer, as I personally hate painting, with living in Minnesota having 6 months of it snowing, and 3 months raining, and I travel constantly in the summer, so time is limited for painting my rockets.

AMEN !!!

As you know Buddy, I lived in MN when I started flying rockets as a BAR. The weather provides very few ideal days for painting. It is even worse here in NW Arkansas with the high dew points. I love the pre-colored FG components.

Done with the GoFast 1:3 Scale! Decals are on, now I just have to clear the rocket and polish the nose cone tip. Hopefully the snow stays away this weekend and I’ll launch it, hoping to have these online for sale by the end of the month.
