Barbara Kauth Stine (NAR#17) - 11/26/1932 - 9/15/2019
I am very sad to report the passing of my mother this afternoon. While my father, G. Harry Stine is remembered for founding the National Association of Rocketry (NAR), most folks don't realize that my mother was the person behind the scenes running the actual NAR operations in our basement in New Canaan CT in those early years. Besides all the volunteer work she did for the NAR, she also made major contributions of time to the summer camps my grand parents founded (Girls Vacation Fund), the Girl Scouts, the Arizona Dressage Foundation, and the Golden Retriever Club of Phoenix. My sisters and I, both of her grand children and her two great grandsons all got to be with her one last time before she passed this afternoon. To her Camp friends, she is now with the Great Wakonda...

Prayers for the Family, Friends, and Fans of Barbara

God Bless!

Bill,

The contributions of your entire family to this hobby are a shining example to the rest of us. No matter how old you are, the world is very lonely place when your mother passes. Our hearts go out to you.

As a tribute, I'd like to suggest that NAR sections dedicate the remaining launches this season to Barbara. Let's all send the first rocket of each launch up with a prayer, and in her memory.

Godspeed, and condolences.

I like this idea. We will try to do this at BEMRC, section 627.
