Hey all, the last time I had to buy some 30 gauge wire for thermalite igniters I bought at radioshack...that's long outta Canada now. Any Canadian sources you can recommend? Amazon doesn't look that great either.

I would think any decent electronics shop would have that. Of course, depending on where you live, it might not be super easy to get.

We have a few shops in Ottawa that would have it.

Ended up doing Radio shack online and shipping to the border. None of the local electric supply companies seem to stay in business for very long...

Bruce, How much do you need< I have several thousand feet of Kynar wire wrap, that was used for my thermalite igniters. All for 1cent/ft plus postage. Garth Illerbrun
NAR 26894.

I just bought a bunch online. I will buy more from you with a motor order someday. I feel a need to stock up on rms hobby motors coming up.

I buy 30 gauge Nichrome all the time. Best source is Lee's Electronics in Vancouver. Great company!

Shame this stuff is not available anymore to purchase...
The original Ignitors for FSI motors! Also the standard AeroTech igniter before the crapperheads. AeroTech used the Fast Thermalite (Yellow)
1. cut 1" - 1.25"
2. remove fiberglass threads carefully. (The pyrogen compound is very brittle, especially when this old.)
3. carefully remove 3 or 4 of the nichrome wires.
4. Wrap the kynar wires about 1/4" apart. Wrap them near the middle with this slow stuff. Near the end for the fast stuff (Almost impossible to find)
5. twist.
