One of the density values of a chemical in my ProPEP 3 program shows 0.00001 lb/cu-in when it should be around 0.01 lb/cu-in.

Can someone please tell me how to change values in ProPEP 3?

Thanks

I posted this in response to your question elsewhere. A monospaced font isn't absolutely necessary but it makes it easier to keep uniform spacing (which is critical).

The file to change is the PEPCODED.DAF file. First, copy the original file elsewhere so that it can be reused if there's a screwup.

Load it into Word, change the entire file to a monospaced font (e.g., Courier).

Change the values that need to be changed.

Save as a text file, not a Word file.

Some other details on Propep can be found in Experimental Composite Propellant.

Best -- Terry

GREAT!!! Thank you so much!

I dont know why it was so hard to get an answer for this problem.

Some of your posts got moved to the Research section which is restricted, iirc there were replies, but if certain formulation info is present its moved to that forum.

I dont see why they do that, I found a thread about formulation on this forum before and it was not moved.

Regardless, my question has been answered.

I might suggest you asked a much narrower and ( IMO ) better question this time. Glad you found an answer!

Because there may be a questionable thread somewhere else on the forum is not a good reason to ignore current and new discussions that may be construed or lead to the topics that are limited to the research thread. It just takes one incident to ruin this entire hobby for everyone, so as controversial as it may be TRF has taken an "overly" cautious position on it.

I think it's better to be criticized for taking this position vs. the worst case.

I am working on my first formula characterization with ProPEP 3, but I can't find two chemicals. I think I found Tepanol (or HX-878) (0.4%) the first time I added the chemicals, but I can't find it now. I also haven't been able to find Lecithin (0.2%).
Perhaps at a total of 0.6%, it's not a big deal.
Thanks for the help.

Those are both saved near the top of the list in the newest version.
