I just got word that I won the raffle held at the Bong launch yesterday. It was for a "surprise" Wildman kit. And surprise it was....

>>> 6" Ultimate Wildman <<<

I mean like dude, I never win these raffle things. I am totally psyched. Now I have a really good reason to accelerate (in a reasonable fashion) my journey to L3.

As an aside, I received my L2 NAR membership card in the mail last Wednesday.

Well, that was $20.00 well spent... :D

I finished 2 apogee Aspires that I plan on launching to about 3 kilometers on the AT G8st-p. I got them built, tested their deployment systems and installed the motors.

Working on a few different projects.

4" Torrent built light, mid power but high power capable.

Scratch builds in my Lowtech series. BT55 and BT60 with 29mm mmt.

Getting into epoxy, micro balloons, carbon chop.

I got a itch to build big.... So a few trips to HD and Lowe's. 8" sonotube and custom built nose cone. Fins and CR/bulk heads will be 1/2" birch plywood. 98mm mmt tail cone, and fiberglassed. Fins might be: DX3 or Frenzy massive, WM Darkstar, or make it a 1:4 scale Viking 7 sounding rocket.

Coincidentally. I got me renewed L2. card on the 20th too! Good thing, since my other one expired in april.....

Theres no way I'll have a flying Saturn V built before the 24th. So this all have to do. First Lego set I've bought since moving to Huntsville in '16

Accidentally mixed up way too much epoxy for my Big Daddy fillets, so I grabbed my Madcow Big Fizz kit and epoxied the centering rings onto the motor mount.

Heh looks like my shed / workspace!

On July 20, 1969 + 50 years, watched my kids earn their NAR Jr. L1 HPR certifications on H115DMs!

Completed an avionics sled for my 4" 3D printed NC. This is to replace the one lost earlier in the year that hasn't turned up yet. That's a TeleMega onboard there.

I should have taken more pics as I completed this. From earlier in the build...

Not visible are the microswitches for the RBF pins.

The sled can be changed out to different airframes, down to 54mm as designed.

Took a 20 year break from rockets came back in a big way a few weeks ago had a three day weekend starting with the day I received a big daddy. So last weekend was fun I bought a retainer ring too and got that today. So big daddy is complete. Got a v-2 and a BT-80 based 24mm x 3 cluster rocket I drew up on open rocket on the way.

I didn't do anything too notable... gooped some sealer on some fins to prepare for sanding... hopefully rocket time will increase again soon...

Gave up on finishing my L3 project in time for LDRS. With vacation and work between here and there it was going to be close, but then this weekend I took a chunk off my pinky with a box grater, and I can`t get gloves on over the bandage...hence can't finish the t2t. Rather than rush (and screw up) I'm going to aim for next year.

I'll still be at LDRS under the obnoxiously bright orange canopy on vendor row (I think I'll be between LOC and Nadene) starting Friday, so stop by and visit. I don't have any big projects now, so sitting and watching will be my primary...maybe sell some stuff too.

Pulled some balsa out of the scrap box and milled conduits for the BT50 and ST-8 WAC Corporals that I am -- apparently -- still working on.

3 hours of CAD work and 5 CNC operations to produce conformal replica conduits the details of which will be invisibly small on the finished models. >smile<

Wow! I've been gone for awhile and can't believe this thread is still going.

Sadly, I only looked at rockets online today. [emoji20]

I need to get out to my workshop and dust off a rocket or two.

Finished the paint on Duibhìn's Red Rocket. Decal by Stickershock 23.
And a picture of Duibhìn himself.

Nice paint.
LOC EZE? Mine is the 1.63" Park Flyer. I was looking for something to fly on smaller motors (cheaper)as my club's field won't handle high altitude. I also have the 29/24 adaptor so I can use E's and F's. Now I need a replacement for the chute release I lost. If I get a good day I might try sticking a small "H" in it. There's two part foam around the motor mount so I'm sure it will handle it
