I just put the money down. I purchased the full package except for the retainer. I love the AeroPack retainers, I just order them with my name and NAR# engraved. That vanity thing again. I also want to thank RocketMan for the performance of their drogue chute on my L3 flight. Their 'Ballistic Mach II' drogue is a real soldier. Highly reccomended.
The 'Miss Riley' kit looks awesome. Thanks folks.

Jim

Working on the colored instructions, each are 3 pages front and back.

So when do you plan to start shipping or are you still waiting on parts from Curtis?

I’m driving to Pennsylvania on the 26th to pick up all the parts from Curtis, coming back and will ship everything out immediately including the recovery and retainers. The Altimeter Bays will ship out separately as those are being made custom by SMT Designs.

Thanks for your response... Looks like I didn't think/forgot about the posting in the announcement thread. Silly me...

This is wild, I have a Broadsword kit and was just thinking of building it as a Miss Riley so I grabbed a series of screen shots from when they pan down the rocket and stitched them together (not easy with the perspective changes and panning to the side).

It looks like you are using Brush Script for the decal, I'm trying to find something closer to the original. Anyone know of a font for that?

I am currently doing a BT-70 size scratch build Miss Riley and the only font I have found close to the one in the movie is called The Only Exception. You can find it on Dafont. Go to Script, Handwritten, Page 11. Hope this helps, Steve

Wow, that's really close! I might have to get Mark to print off one for me.

Buddy: You could sell a 3D printed tail cone for scratch builders. Say a BT-70 or 80?

Check out this awesome parts diagram produced for the Miss Riley Kits! With the 100 kits soon to be built, I was thinking of making a build thread, to help everyone out as a group for questions. But this kit is very simple to assemble.

Okay the search for a font that is "close" can stop, here is the real deal: Ky's Cursive as seen in the movie at the final launch. I drew this in Illustrator based on the composite frame from the movie, and I have cleaned up a few minor irregularities in spacing and line weight. It is sized for the the 2.64 body tube in Buddy's kit but of course you could resize it for other scratch builds. It is intended to be placed on the upper half of the airframe, not between the fins. The image below is just a PNG for reference, the real file you should use is an EPS that is linked here:

Hi Buddy, great accomplishment, I was at the MN TRA launch last weekend, I just ordered the full package. I live in Mendota Heights, so I can stop by and pick things up if that is easier. Just Let me know, can't wait to begin the build! Terry Z

I had to use some Jedi Mind tricks on the wife - and accept that it was the Miss Riley or LDRS 2019
I guess this means I get to meet Buddy and his Dad in person in 2020
Looking forward to getting my hands around this one , Thanks Buddy -
Your a pleasure to work with, keep it up
Andrew

Working on the recovery packages as we speak, than off to Pennsylvania later today to grab all the parts (well over 1,500) when I’m back on Friday the nozzles will be here as well from SCP. My plan is to get 40-60 kits shipped out by next Monday, including the recovery packages and retainers. The av bays will be drop shipped by SMT Designs in the coming weeks. I’m very proud to say 75 kits have been officially sold! So far to Sweden, Australia and Germany, what an honor!

Buddy the nozzles will be on your doorstep Thursday. Here is a short clip of the sound tuning........we got the length tuned in perfectly to the high "F" and these should sing nicely under power as well!!!
