Project X comes to life in a dramatic one-take, complex, all out effort. The maiden flight of Rocket X, with Spacecraft X hosting an FPV camera, TX and battery. Shotokutech makes it look easy! Thanks to my lovely wife for the assist!

Unfortunately with bitly, you don't know where you will end up when you click, so you are probably not going to get too many responses.

Fair enough. The other social media sites resolve bitly to a YouTube preview. So they do OK there.

Here it is:

Nicely done. FWIW I clicked the link in your first post. It worked ! :)

Thanks. Yes the Bitly links do work. But to Bat-Mite's point, they could redirect one to a website loaded with malware. Yes, I'm in IT so I did consider this before using Bitly at all. In the big social sites, it works out OK as they resolve it to a preview of the destination, in this case YouTube. I track over 600 clicks a month through Bitly, so it helps see new traffic coming in. But on other sites, you just get the bare link that may or may not be trustworthy if you have people posting them with malicious intent. Thanks the the internet, like privacy, there is no more trust either. I appreciate the view, no matter how you got there. Thanks!

Looks like a fun afternoon. Nice that your wife participates.
She even turned down a free breakfast! Ha ha. We set this up, flew it and tore it down in 39 minutes. Could not have done it without her.

What prompted you to try FPV instead of DVR. RC pilots use FPV to help them "fly" the aircraft, and I could see it being useful in a rocket boosted RC glider. I guess I don't see the advantage over DVR in a standard rocket.

There is DVR here. It's just on the ground, not in to rocket. If you look at my channel, you will see I do DVR on board. But what if you don't recover the rocket? How do you get the video?

Another thought would be a "Fly on the Rocket" booth at the annual big club launch. Seems like a pretty sound concept to me.

That's why I did it epic style!

Thanks!

And here was the episode where it took me two weeks to get the video back from the on-board camera.
