How is the reference area calculated for the Cd?

The parachute itself has a Cd of 2.2 as they’re extremely efficient because of the pull in lines. If you look on our website you will see very detailed decent rates. Some companies use “reference area” to claim a false Cd, which I will never do as this is the actual Cd of the chute.

Cd is always based on a reference area. If you don't spec the reference area, the Cd is meaningless.

Huh? You are a parachute manufacturer, right?

I reversed engineered your descent table and it appears the ref area is a circle of the stated diameter. Was that so hard?

I used one of these on my L1 recert flight a few weeks ago. It brought my rocket back nice and soft.
