Subject parachute for sale. Upon pre-listing inspection, I found 2 burn throughs that would require some form of repair (pics included).

$150 + Shipping. Offers entertained.

Buddy, just curious. I hope several Rocketman chutes. How would you repair this and for how much? And no, I'm not going to buy it and attempt repair myself!

What I usually do is use the same colored cloth and “sandwich” the hole in the middle by cutting out circles and using cloth on each side, this way is probably stronger than the cloth itself. If the hole is too big than I can easily replace the panel. Pricing is very difficult, usually based on time and how big the holes are. But I have repaired many manufactures Chutes in the past and do not charge much at all.

Okay, I'm confused. I may be interested. The chute says "18' PA", but Buddy says it's a 16' Pro experimental, but the model number is "18 RC"?

i am looking for a big chute that gets me 15 - 20 fps descent rate for about 100 lbs. Would this fit the bill?

The way my father did sizing back than was slightly confusing as he was the first manufacturer out there. But basically every size was a size or 2 smaller as “RC” didn’t mean size but just a relative number. But a RC18 is a 16ft, good for a 80lb rocket at 20fps.

Thanks for historical insights there, Buddy! I didn’t realize there was a discrepancy from model number to size.

Buddy posted that the chute for sale would bring down an 80lb rocket at 20fps. The cart says the chute in question will bring down a 65lb rocket at 20fps.

I believe that that older descent rate chart would match up with this older parachute. And that Buddy's stated numbers are a little exaggerated.
