Here is the Concept model of the rocket, all of the parts are being machined currently and the kits are being made for 100 limited addition kits! As well the Certificates of Authenticity’s are off to Homer Hickam to sign. I plan for these kits to be online for purchasing in early July if not sooner as there’s been so much work involved. The 100 stickers will be included with the kits, made by Stickershock. Thanks for all the interest out there!

I too am very interested. And a big +1 for all of Homer's books. They take me back to my own childhood, and speak to a world gone away. Highly recommended.

I think your kit is really doing this justice, buddy!

Miss Riley reminds me of my 4" RW All American. Looking forward to the kit as it will make a great addition to my fleet. I love the colored FG tubes - NO paint !!

I’d be interested but I wouldn’t need all the recovery and stuff and I don’t do dual deployment. Would there be a cheaper option without all that?

I’m most likely going to have a “recovery package” as a second option to lower the over all cost, but sell it as 50% off which would be the main, drogue, shock cords, Quick Links and eyebolts. As far as the single deploy part, the coupler could simply be glued in, the real only difference is the switch band and end cap.

A picture I found of the Miss Riley rocket with the Rocket Boys shows red fins and a blue nose. Idk if that’s the original scheme or the red nose/blue fins is

That picture was a rocket that some one else made and painted from our original kits. Here is the original from the movie (we personally have 6 of the 13 rockets made.

Buddy, it appears the "Miss Riley" decal can be applied both ways from your two pictures of originals ... Which way is the "right" way?

It's all looking good!

Good question. This is a screen shot from the movie... it panned down the rocket without showing the full body tube, but has the "Miss" toward the nose cone. Which corresponds with the first picture in post #48, which has a placard stating it is the actual rocket in the last launch. But the rocket on the certificate has it with the "Miss" on the aft end.

So the rocket from the first picture in #48 is where the decal should be but I noticed the certificates being sent out has the decal at the bottom of the rocket between the fins.

Here are 3 other Miss Riley Rockets we have from the movie, all going the same way. Personally I like it the other way around between the fins.

I was thinking the 1st run of the kits were 4" dia.?

No 2.64”, finding someone that could machine 4” nozzles out of solid aluminum for anything under $100 a piece couldn’t be found and I figured no one would pay it. Plus most people fly 38mm motors so I figured this would be absolutely perfect.

How heavy is the kit? Trying to figure out if it'll stay low enough and work on 29mm high power. The closest field I have access to monthly has a 3k waiver (not much but you get what you can get down here in the southeast).

I’m thinking the kit is around 3-4lbs, totally could fly on a 29mm motor with an aeropack adapter.
