Hey All-
I did not do a build thread on this kit but I thought it would be fun to post some "newly completed" photos before its first flight. You know how it goes with kits like this.....with all the "Do-Dads" on the large wing tips! I am interested in seeing how this thing launches and coasts. I am thinking C6-3. I bet a Q-Jet D would kink the body tube. Anyone do an 18mm composite on this kit? Anyone out there who knows how it launches?
It was a fun build either way. Great job Estes! Nice Kit!

Hey-
Thanks guys! As it is....My High Power season ended when the crops were planted. So Summer is my model rocket season. I have smaller fields locally plus a club about 1.5 hours away to launch these little guys. It is funny....I like building low power rockets more than high power rockets...BUT...I like launching high power rockets more than low power rockets. I still like them both enough to launch them regularly! Its all good in my book. I like like a good Estes kit. Thanks!

Great looking build! Mine flew nice and straight on its' only launch.
I have another in the build pile cuz those engine pods and cowlings are just begging to be lit up.
So I'm planning to outfit it with internal LEDs and 24mm power.
But it's way down on the queue. Cheers.

Beautiful build!

The peak thrust from a Q-Jed D16 is 22.3 N, or 5 pounds. support the rocket nose down and load a five pound weight in the motor mount. Will the tube buckle? Nah, go ahead and launch that bad boy!

Looks beautiful. Always good to get those beauty shots in before the first flight. :)

In the second picture I was trying to figure out what rocket that was in the background... until I realized it was your lamp.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I sometimes post the completed kit photos (prior to launch) because I too like to see what the finished product looks like before I build a rocket I have never seen. When I saw a photo of an Estes Conquest on the forums awhile ago, I knew I had to build one! Besides its just plain fun. Thanks guys!

I will let you know how it goes if I get out this weekend to launch it. I DO have a Q-Jet D16! I will try the C6 first though. Speaking of my Conquest....I have yet to get a first flight on that one too....I hope to try for a first launch this weekend on that one as well. Have a good day all.
