sorry to hear that Bill- Im gonna skip Feb and do the 2 day in March, planning on doing my postponed L-1 from last weekend. Would sure be nice to catch up with you my friend. Get yourself feeling better buddy, miss seeing you.

Andy, im very sick..... been off work for 6 weeks. I thank God that I’ve been able to build some rockets for a couple of hours a day or Id go completely out of my mind.
I’m hoping maybe in February.... the future is very uncertain my friend.

I have large black bins from Costco with the yellow lids filled with rockets in the garage stacked to the ceiling...one car stays outside.
My closet is full of rockets and have to be careful when I open the doors that they don't all fall on top of me...donated half my clothes.
An article of clothing will be donated for each additional rocket purchase until I am down to my underwear... Soon I will fly my rockets naked.

I am just stunned by the number of replies ive read to my question, and hope there will be more, as this has been SO FUN! My life became a living hell back in early August when I had to have a triple bypass.....or die. that all went well until I developed PTSD.....yep! PTSD! From there I ended up with an abscess in my left lung, and my brain and ive been on antibiotics via IV ever since. Cant work till an MRI shows that its all gone and I can last longer than 2 hours before having to lay down because im shot. The reason that im sharing this story is that the one thing that has kept me somewhat sane and happy is building some model rocket kits! No matter what happens, Im so thankful to God for my family, friends, and yep....hobbies such as model rocketry! Its hard to believe that ive been a BAR for 10 years! On Feb15th, ill be 61......how fast time goes by....here,s some pics of what ive built and/or finished since ive been sick....it keeps me going......!

Sorry to hear about your predicament. I pray your recovery is complete in short order.

I used about 200 small wood dowels to hold the models up. Took me over two house to set up the photo. Just as long to take down.

I do like to paint my own schemes, that's was the first thing I liked about rocket kits, I love to paint!
Not much of a sticker fan....however my step-daughter and my sister-in-law both have those "crickets"(?) to cut adhesive film....I guess I need to hit them up to cut me some templates, I would use it for masking paint rather than for stickers...

Cut vinyl is great, I wouldn't equate it to "stickers". Wish I had access to a Cricut, can't really justify buying one but for occasional use it would be great.

Nothing wrong though with using cut vinyl as paint mask if that is your inclination. Just test the adhesive strength and make sure it won't pull up the base coat. Ask me how I know...

Cricuts and other vinyl cutters make excellent paint masks or vinyl decals if you so choose. The V2 pictured below was painted not "stickered" and a Cricut was used to create and cut the masks.

There's vinyl specifically for masking. I have an older cricut that I use sure-cuts-alot 2 on. SCA2 let's you cut without the need for proprietary cartridges. Thanks to a lawsuit that software is no longer available. I also have a cheap Chinese 42 inch vinyl cutter. Both only cut text down to about 3/8 inch. I spent $100 less on the 42 inch cutter than the cricut, it was a factory referb.

Currently I have 15 flyable LPR models, two of which date back to my old fleet days in the 70s-80s. All told, I have built 118 models over my involvement in the hobby.
I have 5 models in various stages of construction, and 6 un-opened kits in the queue.

It's nice. Relatively quiet, I can put on a movie or music and work away. There's a bathroom on site, and a power outlet right next to our unit.

+1, CriCuts are limited to about 3/8" lettering, I have done 1/4" but be prepare to really work at getting the lettering off the transfer tape (even well used transfer tape) as the adhesive on the letter is not strong enough to hold when the tape is pulled away, however scotch tape might work as a transfer tape for smaller lettering. With 1/4" letters it was necessary to use an xacto in a few places to remove the centers of R,P,O,A etc.

2, working on 3. Made 2 for my kids also, but those are theirs, and they were Generic E2X kits. Fun to slap together but I went a bit crazy on painting them.

I have some ideas for an upscale 24mm Estes Ramjet, and an original scale YellowJacket. After that, I may try one of those Mach1 kits, or one of the really complex Skill 4/5 kits. I also have a scrap section of BT60 that's exactly the correct length for a Super Alpha...
