Great product for those who prefer streamers. I know whats going in my next build.
Here's a pic from one that somebody at our club used last week. It was probably a 1/2 mile out and a 3-4000' up.

how effective is a streamer at slow down its velocity? Yes ive tested them before but they really only work in high mileage wind for proper duration
it depends on weight of rocket & size of streamer. buddy has specs on his website.
These streamers are very effective for the size they pack down too. I’m working on a streamer for a guy, and our goal is to land a 34 pound rocket only with a streamer. The main use is for tracking as they can be seen from miles away and help you spot your rocket in places with tall grass and corn fields. They look very cool in the air and will definitely get everyone’s attention in the crowd.

Here’s a photo of my 100ft streamer being used on Alex Paviks rocket. We’ve tried to get onboard video but have had video failures. I’m currently building a 250ft one for him that he’ll fly in early March.

Sweet. My flight at ldrs will be slightly over 40k and thinking of just popping it at the top and using one of your streamers for recovery.

I ordered a couple streamers the other day. Kinda wished I didn't due to the IP issues RM is having. I see on their site they have cold stoned copied the Tender Descender. Not really cool in my book. That's a shame all the way around.
I am going to remind people - If you have a problem with a vendor thread or product. It should be dealt with between the two invested individuals and not on the forum.

I am inclined to agree with CW. If you have not taken the time and effort to address your issue with the vender before complaining on a forum, that is discourteous to the vender and forum members. The only vender forum complaints I give any credence to are those where, along with the complaint, an effort to redress the complaint was made, resulting in no resolution.
As for as Rocketman Enterprises: I have been doing business with them for well over twenty years. Using them for custom work as well as off the shelf products and have always received top notch service, as have many others in the rocketry community. It appears to me that Buddy is carrying on the family tradition.
In any case, seeing this thread, I like the product and examples of it's use and will shortly place an order. BTW, I have no financial interest in RM, other than being a satisfied repeat customer...

Looks like a great alternative for keeping track of your rocket on higher flights. I’m guessing you can see these a <long> ways. Heckuva lot cheaper than gps — even doing your own soldering you’re in for $200+ minimum that route for a tracker and receiver.

Hello Bill, plus you can see your rocket all the way from Apogee, which is absolutely perfect for a Level 3. They roll up incredibly small, especially if you’re launching near tall grass or corn fields it’s definitely worth it. Let me know what size and colors you’d need. Thanks!

Just ordered a streamer for my L3 drogue, and also a smaller regular one for NC pilot chute.
Thank you so much Curtis, I actually just sewd your streamer up last night and it’ll ship Monday morning. I would absolutely love to see any pictures/videos of the flight!

I don't know if you have ever flown NAR Competition or not, but one of the Events is Streamer Duration.
Numerous R&D reports ( another Event ) have determined that the longest duration ( highest drag ) occurs when a Streamer has a Length to Width Ratio of 10:1.
Also, special folding methods ( designed to maintain the "creases" for higher drag ) and different materials, which tend to "hold the creases" are often employed.

Very interesting, when do these competitions take place? I don’t know much about Nar at all since I’m a Tripoli guy, and there’s not any Nar fields around here. Although it sounds easy, especially when I can fit a 250ft streamer in a 98mm tube. Thank you so much for the heads up Dave.
