My condolences. He has been so helpful over the years to so many of us. I enjoyed his PMs with suggestions and his unique ability to develop the most simple tools to help build rockets. There will never be another and he will greatly be missed on TRF.

So sorry to learn of this. John posted a TON of great stuff and seemed to take photos of everything...he probably built more Micromaxx than anyone in history, by a wide margin. I think I might have met him at NARAM-55 but I'm not totally sure. He was uber ingenious and ultra prolific - always enjoyed checking out his identically captioned pics.

John had over 15,000 posts on the forum. I always referred to him as “Der MicroMeister.” He served as an amazing repository of Rocketry knowledge, and was always an eager and helpful reference for all things Rocketry related.

I am sorry I never had the opportunity to meet him in person, he helped me personally on the forum numerous times.

His posts on the forum will be sorely missed!

I am very sad to hear this. I never got to meet John in real life, but I had quite a few discussions with him here, and I learned a LOT from him. He had a lot of knowledge about many aspects of rocketry, and not just about micro models. He will be missed in these rocket circles. My condolences to his wife and family. I will miss talking with him about rockets.

I am hoping I am able to get this message out to any interested people. My husband, Micromeister, passed away on Saturday night after a difficult couple of years. I know how much he loved his MicroMaxxes, and how very happy it made him to be able to share his knowledge of and experience with model rocketry with anyone who asked. He was a wonderful man and really did love this hobby. Keep 'em flyin'!

I learned so much from his posts here, both in response to my questions and those posed by others.

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

It is hard to believe that Micromeister is gone. He was such a regular on this forum. It seemed like he built every model rocket there ever was and then he would post his library photo of that model at the mere mention of its name. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Met John when I was a member of NARHAMS. Our daughters were good friends, then we moved to southern Maryland and it got harder to stay in touch. At the time I worked with the fire department, and on occasion when I was in the supervisor's car I would stop by John's house and talk rockets. Very smart man, learned a lot from him. So very sorry to hear of his passing.

Micromeister was the guru on all things regarding clustering and MicroMaxx. I was fortunate to be the last beneficiary of his advice back in a posting in November. My deepest condolences to you and your family. His legacy here is one of giving advice and sharing tips with countless fellow rocketeers. A life well lived.

John shared many helpful tips to me when I was working on building my first micro rocket, and he also inspired me to get into MicroMaxx!
He had a lot of knowledge of micro rockets!

He was quite excited about trying to get an egg lofter micromaxx NAR competition, even talking about quail eggs. He mentioned you frequently as his better part, apparently you were going to help make test candy eggs! The post series was a hoot!

My love of night launches is a direct result of the hours I spent pouring over his posts on that topic. To say he was an expert is an understatement.

I'm sorry about his passing but he's not suffering now and he'll always be with you in mind and spirit. I also love my Micromax from opening the package to start the build to hearing my grandson squeal with delight as they speed skyward and steamers glisten in the sunshine upon descent. I will now think of the Micromeister and smile every time I launch!

So sorry to hear this news. I always got a kick out of pics of him at launches with that orange hard hat. I remember one post he showed us those "big ham hands" ( his words) working on those tiny micros . Mrs M ,may God give you strength thru this sad and difficult time.
