Q-Jet uses

I've been waiting for folks to put more of these in the field before buying any. Has anyone found an instance where the Q-Jet's just stepped it up a notch? I'm not talking about sticking a D16 in Hi-Flyer or some other minimum diameter rocket and wish it luck. Just wondering if this changed things or if it is just another option in my field box.

I like them, due to more visible smoke, and the other most practical use (in my opinion) is for corkscrew rockets (such as the ARS K-02 Crazy 8) You get to see the corkscrew better with black smoke, and I find it very cool that there are now 18mm black jack motors available. And, since they're AP, they are more powerful than standard Estes BP motors..

Good stuff in that thread, thank you for linking. I did a search and didnt get much (aside from the announcement threads).

Yeah, I searched on Q-Jet and didn’t get that thread either when I went to look for it to link. I just knew it was in the Propulsion section....

I found the C12 to be great for the stock Estes Mercury Redstone. Flies nice and straight, but doesn't shoot off the pad (I like the flight to look somewhat scale). Mine is a little ... "wiggly" ... with a C6.

I'm a fan of 3-D printed rockets, such as those from Boyce Aerospace. The Q-Jets are great for 18mm and 24mm rockets that are just a little heavier than typical cardboard models. And the tracking smoke is nice on all rockets.
