No ship note on mine yet, but I don't need it right away so no worries

I've been told so many different estimates on when mine will be shipped that it is pretty much a lottery now. I'll be excited when it ships but I'm not getting my hopes up when it comes to the estimates.

You will get your order. Ken is slow buy they arrive. The delay is manufacturing. He does not have them in stock.

Manufacturing delays are understandable, but its better practice to note 1) the kits are not in stock before people purchase and 2) indicate a rough shipping time frame. The implication from the first post on here was that the rockets were in stock - "Only 25 available (order quick before they are gone)". I'm happy to pre-order if its clear that's what I'm doing. It wasn't clear in this case, and I think that's why people are getting nervous.

It's certainly a bit misleading along with the unrealistic estimates from Ken. I'm more than willing to wait but I wish for an accurate time frame for fulfilling the order.

I received my Performer 98 yesterday. I was one of the first to order.

Anyone have a rocksim file for this kit?

I have been waiting for my Black Friday order and am getting very concerned since I haven't ordered from PH before. This thread gives me hope the Astrobee D I ordered for my son for X-mas may eventually arrive. Communications with PH are leading me to believe I'm getting rocket smoke blown up my arse.

Yea ,that's about the most bullheaded thing I have ever heard. Ken has been moving, trying to process orders and attend launches. You have heard what everyone else has said about Ken. Ken may be slow in responding, but he is as honest as they come. Don't be one of "those" guys. Just talked to him. He says email is NOT the preferred contact method.Call him. Don't hang up, leave a message. Or text.

My hope maybe restored but my respect for some on this forum has diminished. My opinions are based on my experiences.
Sincerely, Bullhead.

No, not bullheaded, just legitimately concerned. I have placed maybe four orders over the past couple of years with PH. Two went through without a hitch. The other two went sideways. On one order after hearing nothing for a couple of weeks I inquired about the status of my order. He said that the motors were out of stock, he should be getting more in a couple of weeks. So he held up the rest of my order (some kits) without informing me. Had to cancel the order. On the other order I decided that I'd better follow up so a few days after placing it I emailed for an order status. He didn't even know about the order. When I emailed him back with the details he replied "the motors should be coming in next week". My order didn't contain any motors. I eventually did receive all items. My sense is that he's honest, just unorganized. So...….
If you place an order with PH, don't expect an automatic order confirmation or shipping and tracking notice. I understand that his inventory is stacked in a trailer and he has to pull things out. Also that he travels to many of the area launches, so he might be occupied while on the road. Follow up via email or phone. And most important use PayPal. They are good about refunds. Cheers.

That says it perfectly. Honest but unorganized. Thanks for your continuing patience. For the record, I have no legal interest in Performance Hobbies, Ken is just a friend.

I called Tuesday and left a message. He didn’t return my call. I have yet to hear anything about my Performer 98!

Ben, as stated previously ... mine was the third one ordered and I received the kit on Jan 11
So... that's one ... other than mine ....???

I received my Performer 98 on 1/17. I was one of the first ones to order.
So that's 2 that have shipped?

Well at this rate, some of us might not see their kit for a long time. Patience Grasshoppers.
2 kits in 5 weeks= 1yr 10 months for the last kit to be delivered
4 kits in 5 weeks=31.5 weeks
6 kits in 5 weeks=20.8 weeks
Only guessing how many kits have been delivered since !2/14/2018

I ordered my Performer 98 on December 14th and have not received the kit yet. After sending Ken an email on January 11th, he responded that my kit would ship by the 18th and he would send me a tracking number. After the date had come and gone, I tried to contact him again by email and phone but have not heard from him since. Because I have not dealt with him before, I was starting to get very concerned, but this thread makes me think I will eventually get the kit if I just wait it out.

Ordered mine on the 14th also,
NO WORD YET about when it'll ship
Sad very sad,,,,,

I think *eventually* is the keyword. I have nothing against Ken or Curtis, just want an accurate estimate on when mine/others will ship. I'm eager to get started on my first fiberglass build that will likely be my L3 rocket. Couldn't pass up the excellent deal so I'm fine with playing the waiting game as long as I eventually get my beautiful kit.

My experience with Ken is that he seldom returns emails or text messages. The only time I was able to communicate with him was by calling him directly. Three promised delivery dates and still nothing. Many have defended him, but honestly if your an upfront business person and you put it out there what is going on, your customer base will not be dissapointed. Unfortunately, too many mixed signals and no real communication. I don't mind waiting for something if I know an approximate amount of time I will need to wait. Just be upfront....

Hi Folks;
I ordered a Performer 150 from them a little over a year ago. I had a similar experience with communications, I had given up on him a time or two but he did ship the kit. The quality of the product is outstanding. There is no documentation at all so I hope you don't need any. The only negative experiences that I had were the aforementioned communication issues and the shipping charges. I had to send another Pay Pal to cover a shortage in shipping costs. On the plus side, the kit quality is the best that I have seen. I made a few modifications, but I always do. I have just completed it and hope to post pictures within the next week or so.

This thread is precisely why no one should ever order a Curtis Turner product that the vendor does not have in stock (IN HAND). You pony up the dough, and eventually you get what you ordered. I'm assuming Ken gets tired of the never ending phone calls, texts, and emails from disappointed customers that incorrectly assumed these kits were in stock. Its the vendors responsibility to be clear indicating this was a pre-order sale, which it was not clear at all.

Hang in there folks, you will get your stuff eventually...
