We had some incredible fun at the farm today. I launched my MegaNuk; Nathan launched his Cowabunga Mammoth and his Higgs Farm replica. Tom C. launched his Yellow Submarine on an O12000, which left a crater in the ground.

There was a cool level 3 project featuring a 11% scale model of a Russian missile, complete with its own rolling launch pad.

One Bad Hawk and Performance Hobbies were in attendance. Video of the above launched will be posted to the MDRA YouTube channel in time. I'll add links here when available.

Meanwhile, here is a shared link to my pics. https://photos.app.goo.gl/n1EgcZsFcUwCYEXZA

Please feel free to ask questions!

Was a fun launch for sure. I got my first EX motor off the ground and at future launches will be flying them more. Can't wait for red glare now :D

Looks like you had a great launch. Anyone get pictures of Nates big Cow?

Videos are up! Thanks, Peter!

Why risk such a great launch site to fly a tree? Great rocket flights. I did not read fine print about making comments on tree launch before posting this. Hope no one is offended by my post.

What was the temp on the field. You guys are crazy and I hope to join you when it gets a bit warmer.
In the high 20s in the early part of the morning; but with all the work needed to get set up and such, it went by quickly. After lunch it got close to 40. Hats and gloves were coming off. I wouldn't want to be standing around in those temps, but I am active from the moment I get there till I leave. I always bring a chair but never sit in it.

Thanks for posting. I’ve been daydreaming of launches but no local waivers up yet.

I'M OFFENDED BY EVERYTHING

AAAAHHHHHHHRRRRGGGG I'M TRIGGERED

Seriously Crossfire...Batmite asked you start another thread. That's not at all an unreasonable request.

How do you get the launch lugs/rail buttons on the tree?

Absolutely not offended by Gary or anyone else. But since I am not a board member of MDRA, I am not a spokesperson for the club. I know there are many people who disagree with the safety and ethics of the tree launch, and I have no opinion one way or the other. I have an artifical tree, and I have never launched one. I'd rather launch a rocket. But the tree launch is a tradition, it is enjoyed by many, and the videos are fun(ny) to watch.

People are welcome to share their thoughts pro or con, but I'd prefer it not be in this thread. I can just avoid the other thread.

My friends who aren’t even into rockets think the tree launch is one of the coolest and awesomest things they’ve ever seen.

Not unreasonable request at all. I just didn't read that part of his post until I made my post.

I have flown trees here about 5 times and if I remember the Landowner was there for most if not all of them. He has been very supportive of all the activities, and of course this is where the biggest projects in the country have been flown. Trees are flow from the far rack as MDRA is very careful about safety.
