Well, if I had it to spend I'd offer - um, maybe $5K? $3K? - and see what happens. It would keep my LP build pile well piled for a long time. (And of course I'd measure and photo the parts and scan the instructions and decals for each one opened, and post it all somewhere like EMRR, or here, or on the personal web site I'd have to build for the purpose.)

But alas, I do not have $3K to spend on such things.

Whom here should trust your posts now?

The question was not rhetorical. I was asking Steven to explain why he lied about the offer and why his posts should be trusted on this topic going forward.

I'm sure he'll want to set the record straight.

Steven?

My guess he is the one listing stuff.

eBay seller name: Godzilla!!
TRF name: Godzilla!

Can’t be the same person, there’s only one “!” in the TRF login.. [emoji12]

[edit: I stand corrected - reading it correctly with my glasses on, they both have “!!”... that would hold up in court right?! ]

eBay post says highest offer received will be accepted.

Besides, what’s the chance that there’s someone with a collection like that who isn’t on one of these kinds of forums?!

An outright lie!
No contact established/No offer ever made.
Whom here should trust your posts now?
This post does not exactly scream “I am mature and reliable”. Not an auspicious debut on this forum.

If you’re selling something for a requested $25k you might try to project a little professionalism.

Not to mention some care with grammar.:( (It's "Who here would..." not "Whom...")

Steven?

Godzilla, are the one that is offering all those nice kits?
If not, how would know if Steven made an offer or not?
No offense intended, just a curious mind is all.
ps Have not kept up on this topic, so I haven't read all post. Just the one's on this page.

While not a glorious introduction, Godzilla!! called BS on the offer, and there has been no response from Steven. Doesn't the lack of response validate Godzilla!!'s assertion?

In the mean time...

Things are manufactured in such large quantities today that collectible value is zero, even for stuff sold as "collectible" I bit the bullet and bought some Matchbox Collectible trucks 20 years ago, they are now virtually worthless, even though they are mint condition never opened....bottom line, buy stuff you want to have...and have fun.

Besides, if you subtract the amount of replacement shock cord...the price drops by at least half. :D

HELLO!

i am looking for E-744 curative? who has? small amount only please.

You posted the same question in four different threads. Did you read the forum rules? This is going to be a rough and probably very short ride for you here in TRF.

I wish you best of luck.

My point was that it doesn't matter if Godzilla's assertion was true; there were any number of better ways to address the situation rather than hysterics, "random internet jerk" is not a good persona to assume when trying to sell a $25,000 item (or at any time really, but just trying to stay on topic here).

And good heavens no, Steven's lack of response doesn't validate the accusation. We don't know the story here. It is curious, certainly.

I was unaware of the forum rules, since this is the first time I have been on a forum, especially a rocket one. I apologize for spamming.

When someone calls BS, they are calling you a liar. There are not a lot of ways to eloquently/softly deliver said message.

This thread is great!

RE: Post 54

Nah, just go to the local BAR and try your best pick-up line.

I tried to PM this, but it seems you've restricted that in your forum settings.

Look near the bottom of the list of subfora on the home page and you'll find one called "Yard Sale / Wanted". That's the place for such requests.

Incidentally, forum rules or not how could you thing that multiple identical posts in threads where they are totally off topic would not be seen as spam? Please think before posting; that'll steer you clear of most forum rules.

When you agree to accept offers on eBay, you can specify a price below which offers will automatically be rejected, and a price above which offers will automatically be accepted. Only offers in the "in-between" range are presented to the seller. So if the seller (Godzilla) has put a "minimum acceptable offer" as, say, $15000, and Steven offered $10000 (a minimum 5-digit offer), the offer would be rejected by eBay on Godzilla's behalf and he would never see it. There's no apparent difference from the buyer's (offerer's?) point of view, except that maybe the reply comes pretty quickly.

Not saying I know that is what happened, but it's one possibility.

Hi ayryq, actually that's no quite correct.
If you login to your ebay account and go to your listing, under the "Time Left" area, you will notice the "History" button with the number of offers made.
If you click that link, it will display every offer that has been made including those that have been automatically rejected and any notes sent by those bidders.

Hi neil_w, just want to apologize to you because you are right. Perhaps I should have used a more PC way of calling out Steven especially in this day and age. Like you stated, I wasn't very professional - but since I'm just a hobbyist in rocketry and don't do eBay as a profession, I lacked the class or the business sense to handle this properly. I tried to go back and re-write it right away after I saw it posted but couldn't find how to redact or re-edit it. Before I knew it, it was too late and people were replying to it.

Hi Steven, I'm sorry for over-reacting to your post.
What set me off was that since I was hoping for people to make offers, I worried that your claim that I turned down your "five figures" might have discouraged anyone who whom might have been thinking of making an offer. If they thought "oh, he's turning down over 10,000+ dollars? Then forget it!" then they might not reach out to me. Which set me off, especially since those who know me and are regulars on TRF & YORF were calling me saying "wow, you're turning down 5 figures?".
Anyway, I do though want to thank you for starting this thread and posting about my listing as this did bring attention to it.

Hi TRF users, apologies en masse to all here for the distraction that's been caused. I ask that you put away your popcorn and not reply any longer regarding this incident to anyone else pro or con on this matter and allow this part of the thread to fade away, and hopefully Steven and everyone esle can go back to posting as before. I'll be doing my part by refraining to reply after this post.

Thank you for your interest in the listing and to those of you that have made offers.

Best Regards, Godzilla!!
