@ 30 = 5.4k
@ 40 = 7.2k
@ 50 = 9.0k
...
25k, ignoring motors ( many of which are very common ), is about $140 each or so. Most kits there are worth nowhere near that much IMO.

Presumably the point is to draw offers?

I think it's ridiculous to buy old model rocket kits as a speculative investment, I believe these will only hold their value until people of the age that grew up with these are dead and then they'll just drop, similar to hot wheels. Except, maybe in the case of a very few early kits fundamental in the formation of the hobby. I can understand if it's something that you really really want to own and youvey got the money why not, for an investment I'm not so sure. I tend to see things that hold value as having intrinsic material value, skill or craftsmanship in fabrication, artistic merit, historical significance, broad appeal, do they age well, is there rarity. Rocket kits have only rarity at the most and really none of the other things long term. Don't get me wrong, I've overpaid for one or two kits that I really wanted to build and that were nearly impossible to scratch build at the time.

Finally I got a look at the link on my home PC, WOW!. Thats an impressive collection for sure and some definite hard to find ones. I was looking for a Aries SST (still am) but I am of the buy to build crowd not buy to hoard (hoarding is just because I haven't built the kit yet). But 25K that's a bit extreme for my blood.

This is still up with many watchers (including me). I am not a kit collector, but I am curious what kind of value is realistic. Not sure if they accept an offer, if we get to see how much was paid (obviously the person is unknown). I assume the price is way high and the owner is either testing the market for offers or plans to let some accumulate and take the best.

The seller is offering "Make Offer".
Your post would be a basis of an offer, and put in reality of what they are really worth.
If my SSDI was approved and I'd get that $100,000 back disability check in the mail....
