Nice job on the RumbleBee-C ! Sorry to hear it landed in a tree!!
I am going to try your trick using on one of the control line planes I am working on, I've never saw it done before after all the years I've been building.

The Sky Blaster is on hold for a week or so, I ordered a D series engine & some other stuff, I want to have it before I finish the fuselage. I will start a new post for the rest of the build. I am watching this forum & learning a lot so keep up the good work. after seeing the RumbleBee , I am going to e mail John to ask about a kit.

Looking forward to your Sky Blaster posts. I'm interested to see what goes into building of full-bodied glider. I intend to get into RC (mostly so I can get my gliders back, but also for the fun aspect of it) but it seems there's a lot to learn re: xmitters, receivers, batteries, servos, all the various linkages, different building techniques, etc. I'm also going to have to get a lot of piloting experience. Due to the lousy weather I've only had one flight with a trainer model (let's just say I don't have a natural talent for it lol). Many crashes, luckily none fatal, but it did give me a feel for what not to do (like stress and max out the sticks ).

The book sounds like something I should read. If you're willing to sell it separately I'd like to buy it from you. I still don't have any idea what kind of equipment I'll need yet, it'll have to be compatible with the rocket boosted models I eventually get. (At the moment though I'm totally clueless about the electronics side of RC).

I don't think the D motor in the sky blaster is going to do much for you, the expected rtf weight was around 14 oz, and the plans list about 200' altitude on that motor, which matches the 20 second flights I had on my astroblaster. Here is an article and scaled plans pic if anyone is interested. You really want an E-6 or other 24mm motor. If John no longer has kits you can look in the 2017 May/June issue of Sport Rocketry or I can send you a pdf of the plans.
