Binder Design Jackhammer First Flight Onboard

Bought a Firefly Q6 camera to attach to the outside of my 4" rockets a while back and tested it on my Binder Design Jackhammer. Went up on a Loki G69 Spitfire. The chute tangled till about 50ft off the ground. It came down fast but the ground was really soft so no damage at all. Wishing I had turned off the fisheye....

How did you attach the camera?

I used electrical tape as recommended by a lot of people. It did peel the paint off though so I'm going to have to find something else. Didn't help that I've had horrible luck with Krylon Colormaster peeling on me from any kind of tape

It's definitely a very nice camera for the price. It'll shoot 720p at 120fps, 1080p at 60fps (what I had it on), and 2.5k at 30fps

Masking tape works too for a lot of subsonic flight. I've used it on up to G83 so far, planning to keep going until my 808 gets ripped off!

Electrical tape is for my HPR rockets, and it's behaved well on the Rustoleum 2X I use

If I didn't have the decals on the rocket already, I'd go after the entire rocket with paint remover and redo it with Rustoleum. I normally use it but I couldn't find olive drab locally at the time.

Masking tape applied very neatly will stand up to ~450 mph with an 808.

Now I did something a little different with my 808 I glue the camera to 2 small dowel rods about 1/8" dia or what is basically a typical skewer for kabobs. Leave the 2 wood pieces about an inch longer than the camera and it makes for a very nice and secure way to tape to the side of the rocket.

FYI...the fisheye effect looks really cool IMHO

I've masking taped an 808 for a 4in fiberglass rocket on a K535. Works better with quality masking tape, don't use home depot brand. Though it did stay on.

Was that last vid flight a D10 in a Crossfire? If they didn't weight the nose, no wonder it skywrote like that

I have no idea what rocket that was, it was probably a D10 though. All my crazy aerotech D10/D21 launches went up just fine, pretty sure they came down too just don't have any evidence of it.
