Well, it's that time of year again, to get out the fruitcake bricks and start planning out your BF strategy. Here at Eggtimer Rocketry, we think you have better things to do with your time than to sit in front of your computer waiting for the clock to tick exactly at 07:00:00 am so you might be one of the first 25 people to get a sweet deal. So, OUR sale will run from Saturday, Nov. 10th through Monday Nov. 26th (Cyber Monday). If you order anything on sale during this time you WILL get the sale price.

We have inventory on almost everything, but due to the nature and the volume involved in this sale it is highly possible (if not likely...) that we might run out of something. If we do, we'll let you know, and get busy making more of them. Nobody's going away empty-handed... you just might have to wait a week or so if we run out. In the case of the Eggtimer Proton, it's not going to be out until about the 19th, so if you order early and want to split the shipment we'll be happy to do that, or we can hold it all and ship it together. Your choice.

And if you haven't seen it already, check out our new web site... EggtimerRocketry.com

And as always, thanks for your continued support!

So the big question is "With the Proton coming out, do I really need to get a Quantum?" LOL. Nice sale. Thanks Cris. Love the new site.

Holycow Quarks for $15, cheaper than a Firefly. I take it I need to wait 3 days before ordering a pocketful...ought to be able to reflow half a dozen at a whack.

OK, I can wait for three days, maybe, but I think I can wait for three days.... Eggfinders for $50, do I HAVE to wait for three more days?
Great sale Cris! as usual...

Hmm, might get brave and actually try build my own for once...can't go wrong with a $15 Quark!

Cris, have you ever considered making a small PCB with some assorted footprints on it and a small selection of components that people could use to practice on before assembling the real boards? You could possibly to it as a separate kit.

I like the new difficulty rating on the site. Feel pretty good about myself building two functioning Eggfinder minis. Think I’m ready for a quantum.

Go to ebay and search for "smd practice" - there are lots of kits available for a couple of dollars. A little practice on one of these helps the confidence quite a bit when tackling a real build.

Perfect! That's exactly what I had in mind. I would recommend one of these for anyone who has not done SMT soldering before. As was said, will really help with the confidence levels.

I bought one of these before I did my first board (the TRS) and it worked really well to get me used to soldering up the SMD components. It didn't come with all the right components though... Still good practice.

LOL, if you can build that thing and get it working then ANY Eggtimer kit will be a snap. We make our pads a lot bigger than the standard SMT footprint... it makes it a lot easier to hand solder. All of our kits except for the TRS, Quark, and Eggfinder Mini use 1206's instead of 0805's too... they're so big you can almost solder them without a magnifier.

Agreed! Moving to the TRS was a walk in the park compared to the small side on that hell board.

Just validated the Proton software for release, so they'll be kitted up in the next few days. There are a LOT of pending orders for them, so if you have a Holiday Sale order with a Proton on it you should be getting your order within a week. Thanks to everyone for your patience!

Made my order about an hour or so ago (sent email) awaiting reply, I bet they are swamped.

Just a bump to remind you all that our sale is still on, through the end of tomorrow. You might as well order while it's cheap, since you'll be needing some AV stuff to go along with the kits that you just bought... :)

Too bad I couldn't find some more dollars to send you way....the accountant said "funds pending" hahaha....denied!

Thanks to everybody who supported us during the sale! We ran out of almost everything, but parts are on the way and we'll get your orders out as quickly as possible... we expect to get them all out within the next two weeks. If your order is a gift for someone else, please send us an email and let us know so we can prioritize it.

Merry Christmas to me!
Thank you Cris.

Yep. The Eggtimer stuff is designed to be kind to people beginning at surface-mount soldering. The 1206 parts (0.12" x 0.06") are quite easy to solder.

I am beginning to questions my sanity with using some of the smaller parts available nowadays. A recent design I did for work had 0402 (that's 0.04" x 0.02") resistors and capacitors and they are really difficult to solder. Luckily I only need to do it occasionally for rework. Unfortunately miniaturisation is the way of the future, so I will try to keep up with it ;).

I am assuming you are not billing us until you are ready to ship. No rush here Chris, thanks for all you do.
