What’s a SEGWAY?

A little more than a hen weighs.

Let’s not offend the folks that are “hippies and/or liberals”.

Fixed it for you. And seriously, Segways, Onewheels, Bird/Lime/Skip scooters are not liberal-mobiles. They are toys and they are exactly as annoying to serious folks on the left as they are to serious folks on the right (in fact, a shared hatred for Lime scooters might be the thing that finally serves to heal the deep political and idealogical divides that have been inflicted upon us).

I would like to posit something even more globally hated than the lime scooter that may be the final thing that unites us all. A fell evil that has befallen our society and demonstrated a deep decline in morals, and frankly, general decency. The darkness that lurks amongst us, the scourge, the fourth horseman.

I am, of course, referring to the "man bun".

I had a bit of fun at the polls this year. One of the offices we were supposed to vote for had no candidates, so we're supposed to write in a name.
I put "Dr. Rocket"

One of my favorite 'vacation pics' is at Disney world.. (It's actually 2..) one is of the stroller parking lot outside one of the attractions. The other, of the other side of the entry lane, is the 'scooter' parking lot.. I was quite amazed at the amount of scooters, that they almost outnumbered the strollers..

(Sorry, don't mean to offend, but they are a bit of a rarity up here. We see the odd one at the local mall, and maybe at the local nursing /elderly care home, but that's about it..)

The only time I ever see Segways is in guided tourist groups. Since I live in a destination city, I see such groups in multiple places. I've seen way more than my share.

I try to be as non-judgemental as possible but for Pete's sake, there's absolutely NOTHING anyone can do to look cool while riding one. And a pack of them together scooting around at 3 mph just amplifies the wiener factor.

For those of you celebrating the end of the ads and robocalls, don't celebrate too much.

Folks high up the food chain in one party have stated they expect the first debates for the 2020 presidential election to occur in about 4-5 months. A short respite, to be sure.

I never got one political robo or cold call. I guess I'm lucky, but I get a couple of robo calls and emails from healthcare.gov and bozo insurance companies every day. I'm in real estate the rest of the bozos call me to "drive" my website to the top of Google searches, blah, blah. Would you ever give your credit card # to a perfect stranger who may be in a Nigerean call center?
This is how I handle bogus cold calls:
Phone rings.
Awesome sales pitch commences.
I sound interested, soon I say "hello," (like i cant hear him)
We go back and forth, "hello, hello, hello..)
I hang up.

Fact of the matter is, I haven't let the phone run my life. I've taken my new 'smart phone' out of the house precisely 3 times this year as the coffee shop has no clock. And that's it. It's kin to quitting drugs, drinking and smoking really. I haven't even turned on the stereo system on in the car after 2 years of ownership. Taking control of one's life becomes easier and easier after a short time. No complaints.

I'll do that when I retire.

Even before 2010 when I retired at 50, mobile phones were still prolific. I haven't let them or outside influences into my life. No newspapers, no radio, no subscriptions, no television, no politics and no religion. Just the internet and it's minimal at that. The fact that I've removed several points of stress that I see and hear bother others routinely is an observable, repeatable, verifiable condition. I'll be hearing all the hub bub at Christmas time too. Serenity is truly priceless.
