TruCore casings (https://www.rocketsaway.com) which I use quite a lot to test and improve my altimeters at a reasonable cost are no longer made and sold by Ed.
In order to be able to get spare parts made by machinist I have started to model them using OpenScad. I then double check them with my 3D printer

https://github.com/bdureau/TruCore-Casing
I will then convert them to drawing that can be used by a machinist
I am missing the measurement for some 24 and 29 mm casings as they are no longer displayed on the web site. If anybody has those info that would be good.
I which Ed was still making them because they were very good for the price.
Boris

For people who can help I have attached a nozzle drawing that can be used for measurement with a caliber

Thanks for documenting, I always appreciate being able to compare/contrast current hardware with OOP stuff.

So far I have the following in my github dir
https://github.com/bdureau/TruCore-Casing

29mm 3 grains casing.scad
29mm 3 grains nozzle.scad
29mm 4 grains casing.scad
29mm 6 grains casing.scad
29mm forward plug.scad

38mm 2 grains casing.scad
38mm 3 grains casing.scad
38mm 4 grains casing.scad
38mm 4 grains nozzle.scad
38mm 6 grains casing.scad
38mm 6 grains nozzle.scad
38mm 7 grains casing.scad
38mm forward plug.scad

54mm 2 grains casing.scad
54mm 3 grains casing.scad
54mm 4 grains casing.scad
54mm 4 grains nozzle.scad
54mm 5 grains casing.scad
54mm 6 grains casing.scad
54mm 6 grains nozzle.scad
54mm forward plug.scad

76mm 3 grains casing.scad
76mm 3 grains nozzle.scad
76mm forward plug.scad

I need help with the nozzle dimensions, in particular the 29 mm ones. I just need the throat diameter and the exit diameter of the nozzle and I can work out the rest.
I have found a way to get those machined but I need the missing nozzle spec....

Well as I was not getting any replies I have done all the drawing for the 29mm, 38mm and 54mm and I am getting lots of spare parts from a machinist see pictures.
However I would be interested by the 24mm ones so that I can get them copied

Tru-Core is still around and in business TRF user cbrarick now owns Tru-Core, hopefully you checked with him before posting information about their products.

Have your machinist break all of those corners a bit...sharp corners will lead to certain cracking/chipping.

some of them yes.
I hope to be able to test those casing over the winter.
I need those motors to test all my altimeters, flying with commercial hardware cost a lot more especially if you live in Europe.
Until not so long ago Ed was making those and it was very convenient. I am probably not the only one looking for spare parts which is why I am sharing the drawing that I did with someone from my rocketry club.

Any advices to get those working as they should do is appreciated

Very good. I have the means to machine stuff and may begin offering parts again.

As far as I know, no one sells snapring cases smaller than 38mm. I would be interested in 29mm in several lengths as well as nozzles if you get to the point of making some for sale.

TruCore used to do some 24mm and 29mm. The prototype I have ordered are for 38mm and 29mm. I never had any of the 24mm but if anybody has some that would be good to have pictures and measurement.
So far my tests have shown that you need to get some pretty good graphite for the nozzle otherwise it breaks.

I asked Ed to make a couple of 24 mm cases for a cluster I wanted to do, he asked me to provide nozzle dimentions. These worked and he offered 24s for a short time. They were a pain to do, the casings were 1 inch tubing from online metals that Ed had to turn down, the id was inconsitent and several had to reamed out with a hone or the liners would not fit, a ton of work for a super niche product. I don't have any 24 mm casings he offered for sale but do have a bunch of nozzles and bulkheads and several casings he made custom for me or himself, that I got later. I do have a production 29-100 casing. It's version 1, thin wall casing like Loki 29s. He later switched to thick wall Kosdon style 29s. The 24s are a lot of fun. The first 24 we called 24-200, with a blue propellant made by Syclone, it produced an H365, a real ripper that I flew many times, along with Fuchsia and white loads. Let me know if you want any info on these.

yes that would be good to have all that info because I have partial data for the 24mm. If you could measure the forward closure and the nozzle height for the 24mm that would help me a lot. My supplier postage is quite expensive for small quantities so if I can get all the truCore casing in one order that would be ideal.

Here is the inspiration for the 24s, a Vulcan G200, from 1995.

Got admitted to the hospital with collapsed lung... be a few days

Yikes, take care of yourself!

Boris, if you end up having 24's made I'll buy a set.
24mm should be small enough to ship anywhere. Not planning on going commercial, I just want to be able to fly chip like I use to when Ed was making them

I just want to be able to try EX in 24mm, and I don't much care to work around CTI's design.

Have you tried Mike Fisher (Binder Design). I know he made some for a buddy and I. Not sure if he still has enough free time for these things or not.

No I have not but now that I found a machinist I should be able to re-do all my casings
