Not really a build thread, but I wanted to share my latest.
I am not done yet but you can see where I am going with this one.
Estes V2 kit, 5" cut out of the body tube.
Custom cut on the fins (papered with 100wt card stock for strength).
Boat tail blended into body tube for clean lines.
B-5 goodies to make fin pods
Built for 18mm Aerotech D21s :)

Big brother is 4" diameter in the center.

Wow. There’s something you don’t see everyday. A couple of beautiful rocket ships. I wonder how much corrective force fins like that will produce ?
 
Samb - Take a look at the thread on the 4" one - the video shows how straight it flies, the fin pods do a good job of keeping the tail down and the point up :)
plus there is a good bit of nose weight as well :)

Whoops, did not look at that thread. Confirmed by video booth review !

Thanks for reminding me that balance is quite important to flying models. :)
 
Nifty! Those are sure to get ooohs and ahhhs from the peanut gallery!
