Estes V2 Kit Bash

Not really a build thread, but I wanted to share my latest.
I am not done yet but you can see where I am going with this one.
Estes V2 kit, 5" cut out of the body tube.
Custom cut on the fins (papered with 100wt card stock for strength).
Boat tail blended into body tube for clean lines.
B-5 goodies to make fin pods
Built for 18mm Aerotech D21s

Big brother is 4" diameter in the center.

I was wondering that too. It's kinda hard to imagine those being stable. Beautiful though.

Samb - Take a look at the thread on the 4" one - the video shows how straight it flies, the fin pods do a good job of keeping the tail down and the point up
plus there is a good bit of nose weight as well

Actually one of my most stable flyers, no weather cocking or anything - super fun.
