Ok, one week later and I have finally gone through all of my photos from Sod Blaster... Enjoy!

Sod Blaster 2018 photos

If one of your rockets is in a photo, let me know!

Kris, Thanks for posting the great pictures ( Mine are the V2 & Solar Warrior from day 3--pictures #12 & #23). I was only able to attend the Sunday launch, but it was worth the drive. I had a total of 9 low power launches, which was fun, but as others have stated, meeting the with other flyers and seeing their work was a even more enjoyable. I would also like to thank the folks who put on and run the launch, but especially Rich for giving me some suggestions when ask about going for my level 1. And not to be left out, I want to thank Ryan for the work he does taking and posting the launch videos ( looking forward to the Sod Buster video).

I decided that I have enough footage to do separate Youtube videos for each day. Here is Friday's action - 63 flights captured. Frank gets the honorary thumbnail for this one, as his big V-2 flight on the sparky was very cool. I know who is getting the thumbnail for Saturday, but not for Sunday yet. I have been very busy at home lately, trying to do as much family time as I could before heading out on a three-week work trip, so that's why it's been a little while to get through my footage. Now that I'm on the road, I should be able to edit Saturday and Sunday videos a bit quicker.

Just spent four hours editing down raw footage from Saturday. Friday's raw footage was 1:09:04 total, while Saturday's was 1:59:30. Needless to say, Saturday's compilation will be a longer video. This will take us up to 187 launches so far, and Saturday's flying was freaking epic! Here's a shot of the notes I've been taking. It will probably take 2-3 more hours to get captions on the footage, so it probably won't be up tomorrow. Hopefully soon though.20180912_233419.jpg

Ryan does make great videos, and the amount of time he spends filming and editing is probably quite time consuming, and on top of all that he is a husband and father to two little ones. Thanks Ryan.

I was actually quite serious...editing to include flyer names, motors and just the right amount of flight time/flight events is very well done. I would pay for DVDs or downloads of this quality video work, but like to see the big flights at the LDRS, Balls type launches.

How about go into YouTube and change the setting to 1080 that's what I did.
Really?

I didnt have the option. Highest I could get was 480.

And I meant no disrespect. His vids are really good. I was putting out an idea for him to get some gear from us that follow as a thank you and for encouragement to continue.

Blue ray. More data and higher resolution.

I'd pay too.

I can select that on my Android phone right now I just touch the screen get three dots and there's a setting for resolution... I can also use the gear symbol on my laptop and do the same thing when I'm on YouTube.

Man, now it's working for me too...

I cant explain it.

Well, saved the group some cash.

I appreciate the comments and feedback on my launch videos. Much as I would love to get better gear and film the bigger events, that sort of committment just isn't compatible with the time I have available to enjoy the hobby. I would much rather continue just being the unofficial club historian, filming what I can while also getting my own flights in during the weekend, than the filming thing becoming something that people are expecting of me to the detriment of my hobby time. Thanks for watching.

at 16:32 into the video, the Alpha III was the only rocket I flew on Sunday and you captured it! The rest were very cool, but there is always that feeling of excitement when you see you own fly... :) Thanks!
