Where can I purchase an ACME 38mm fincan? Alternatives to the ACME?

$17 to ship one of them a week later seems a little steep to me. Any Alternatives to the ACME can?

Mike Fishers MaxQ aluminum fin cans available from Binder Design Rockets. Not sure what sizes they are available in.

Nope. You could go the thing verse and have one 3D printed.

Not sure, you want the Acme can but don't want to spend the money. Have you reached out to them to ask for a hand out?

Didn't want a hand out just thought $17 to ship in a week was unreasonable.

I have a couple of those fin cans on rockets. They are good for a beefy quick build, but they are heavy. 3D printing allows you to have a fill percentage and would be a better choice for altitude. It can be even lighter than plywood but it is not as strong as some other choices.

thx, but weight is not a concern; however, GLR sells a lighter version.

Thx, overkill in this scenario, anything else?

You can stop asking. There is Acme and Binder for HPR, and maybe Apogee for LPR . There is no specialty high power rocket components aisle at Walmart that you overlooked.

You can contact Giant Leap and ask if $17 is actual shipping price, or just a webpage default calculator thing. They made good on a shipping overcharge for me.

Buckeye, I thought I did, the last several post don't ask about anything. If you are irritated by my inquiry then don't reply?

This is a good example of why more folks don't participate in this forum :-(

I own both versions. The lighter version is not light, it is just lighter than the heavier version.

You might try Always Ready Rocketry. Their kits have the Acme fin can. I don't see the fin can as a stand alone on their website, but the proprietor is quite good at accommodating odd requests.
