I have a box of with one each of the three late run Kopter rockets kits. They are dinsoaur style both in production value and names LOL.

The Pterosaur, Mini-Pterosaur, and Kopter are all in there, along with a nice note from Mr. Senowski. He was like 90+ years old when he made them.

Once a year or so, I open the box and check 'em out. Hell maybe I 'll build one of them someday.

I think a lot of us tend to hoard kits and motors, and I have a huge soft spot for the small companies who made kits that were seldom seen even in their "heyday".

How about it guys? What's in all those cardboard boxes lol??

Semroc kinda made a lot of my desired OOP kits - IN production....thanks!

Nevertheless.....I have :

Estes Space Shuttle #1284
Estes Maxi Brute Honest John
Roachworks Nike Hercules
Aerotech RC Phoenix rocket glider (if the kit arrives ...Mark!!!!)
Delta Star - RC rocket glider
BMS Astrobee 1500

when I first heard about those bigger motors around 1981...I bought some Flight Systems E load lifter BP motors, not certified anymore, not flown......wish I had bought some of those silver streaks I kept seeing in magazines.
I have some early Kosdon G/H motors and hardware that belong in a museum.

I have an NCR Interceptor G that I've had for at least fifteen years. I just ordered a vinyl decal set for it from Stickershock, so it may not sit too much longer.

I have a boatload of stuff in storage. Much of it OOP and probably collectible

I think the rarest ones I have are:

NCR Space Shuttle
NCR Aegis X
2 or 3 each of all 3 Estes Maxi Brutes

All still in the box. If I ever get myself in gear, I plan to sell a few of those Maxi Brutes on eBay.

I’ve got a shuttle I need to finish building that I started in the early 90s... an Optima and a Shadow still in the boxes that I do plan to build someday when I get the time to sit down and enjoy them.

Still have and fly my 90's NCR Archer, the one with the 29mm mmt. It shows all of it's battle scars and "patina"...I refuse to overhaul it and lose all of it's history. Most memorable day for it was a 4sec delay econojet that ended up being around 10-12secs. Ejected around 100ft over dead center of a pond, then drifted to land safely on the dry bank. No damage, major heart stopper.

Does it have to be in a box? I still fly this one, the only one I built as a kid that didn’t get lost, it always comes back.

Having your original Centuri Alien Scoutship Flying Saucer launched by MISTER Centuri himself, Leroy Piester, ... priceless.

NCR X-Wing
Neubauer 4 " Mercury Redstone
Qmodeling Mars Snooper
Centuri Draconian Marauder
Fliskits Freedom Forge Missile
Fliskits Nomad
Semroc Sam-3 (from when I became a SAM club member)
Estes Porta-Pot-Shot
And a bunch more I can't think of right now

Estes K-36 Saturn V, 2048 Saturn 1b, K-46 Astron Shrike, 0705 X-15, K-25 Astron Alpha, 1269 Honest John, 1267 V-2, K-39 Saturn V, Centuri KS-12 Saturn V, KS-10 Saturn 1b, KS-8 1/45th scale Little Joe II, KS-1 Mercury Redstone. KB-4 Skylab, KA-12 X-24 Bug, KD-13 Stellar Hercules and that's probably it for now.

I have tons of OOP kits from the heyday in Centuri from the 1970's. Most of them the low priced stuff that I could afford to buy and fly then. Maybe not as collectible as the rarer kits, but to me, priceless. Back then you were either an "Estes Guy" or a "Centuri Guy."

I'm Centuri, now and forever. Best model rocket company, ever.

It was through Centuri that I got involved in rocketry. It helped living in Phoenix at the time too. Always thought their designs had a bit more flair than Estes but still played with Estes as well. They had some excellent designs such as the Interceptor that was hard to beat. The Centuri Mercury Redstone was my first rocket at the age of ten, followed by the 1/45th scale Little Joe II and Saturn 1b before becoming a teen.

Like a few others, I'll build what I like, clone it if I want/ need to.

I don't collect, for the sake of collecting. I have several 'collections' that I play with / use / handle. Nothing in a glass case, or buried deep in a box in the basement to or attic.

I feel too many people these days, collect stuff in the hopes it'll be worth something in the distant future.. But, in 20 years, when 400 people come forward with an Estes MkII Fillabaroo "MIB", will it fetch the anticipated $1000?!

The mind-set has changed..

Paul,

I have to agree with you. While I have several OOP Centuri kits in a box--they are only there until I have time to build them, and fly them. I'm pleased that model rocketry has a museum to document our history and preserve these artifacts of our "Space Age Hobby" but for me, that hobby takes place on fields, under clear skies. Those rockets are best appreciated in a cloud of smoke, the thrilling sound of WHOOSH!

“Actually, I’m a rocket engineer. I just build ‘em. You do the math.”

For me, the only original OOP kit I have is the Astron Nighthawk. Bought it in the late 80's when my favorite hobby shop, Stanton's, discounted a bunch of inventory that had been collecting dust. Stated working on it in the early 90's but didn't get far on it. Last spring I finally glued the wing halves together. When I get more practice at papering fins, I'll finish this bird and let her fly.

I have numerous kits that are OOP. None of which I am planning on keeping and reselling. My current project is even an Estes Sidewinder. Probably my favorite is one that was one of my favorites when I was young, and still have in its poorly-painted glory: the Estes Mighty Moe. Silly name, simple design, but I have a lot of memories flying my original and am thrilled to have a brand new kit on hand to build. It's also a great performer and would make a fun upscale some day.

Got to be my Estes Thor Agena-B. My kit is like 51 years old now and I flew it just last year. The clear plastic fins are a real pain though.

OHHHHHHHHHHH HUMMMMMMMMMM
Mine are all being sold to someone that can benefit them better than I.
But I have a few I won't part with.
I probably should make a list and separate them into a special box.
My Quest and Custom collections are gone, but I still have a Centuri Spirit of America.
Have a couple Estes Pheonix's. Most of what's left is more recently OOP now.
Thank You Kindly for those that purchased. It's helping us start a better year.

Hmmmm...

Doug Stout 89% Scale ARCAS
Roachwerks Nike-Hercules 1/12
THOY Night Hawk 7x29
True Modeler’s Rocket Mits 1/17.5 Juno 1 / Jupiter C
True Modeler’s Rocket Kits OSC Pegasus Launch Vehicle
Peter Alway Astrobee 1500
Neubauer 1/17.5 Mercury Redstone

I’ll probably think of a few more to add to the list...

Cheers,
Michael
