Figured since it was Labor Day many may be peeking at TRF with an extra day this weekend. Wanted to let people know I'm getting pics together now for an electronics sale -- many devices, many brands -- new models, not old and dust covered. Stay tuned!

Waiting to see what you have to offer.

Running this through my mind, I think I'll post a full list of items with links to websites or manuals so people can do their homework and know what they are buying. I'll get that list posted by sometime tomorrow. Then the goal would be to post pics and sale prices Wednesday evening.

Wow, started to build the list... I can tell you, I'm almost embarrassed to admit to all the stuff I just have squirreled away. It's like I should be on that hoarders show (except my stuff is wrapped in anti-static bags in neatly arranged "cubby holes.")

Preliminary count shows nearly 30 items to be listed. Might need to include discount deals for those buying multiple items.

Any timeframe when the list will go up? I'll have to get on during work to see the deals.

The list hopefully tomorrow mid-day Eastern time.

Actual sale would start hopefully around 7pm Eastern on Wednesday.

This will be fun to watch. I picked up an early altimeter for cheap one time I can't find any information on. It was part of a batch of items had for cheap so not
a big deal. Kurt

Kinda reminds me of that "musical chairs" game we played at birthday parties, or at school ..
When will the music stop.. when will we all run to grab a chair? (and, sadly, who'll miss out..)

That is such a good idea, that we are actually going to do that very thing. I was thinking about a way of making this fair to all, even on the West coast, and now I have it! The process is as follows:

  1. Attached to this post is the a PDF list of items with reference links (well most of the items, there may be a few other cubby holes to look through :)). Please take your time to review the list and the reference pointers to the products and decide what you might want. Note that there are multiple quantities of many items.
  2. The music will then begin at 7pm EDT / 4pm PDT tomorrow evening when I will update the list and include the pricing. Participants will then have time to match their wants to their wallet.
  3. Then the music stops at 8pm EDT / 5pm PDT and I will start taking PM's for what items you want. PM's will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Note: no PM requests will be accepted before 8pm EDT / 5pm PDT.
I have over 30 items I'd like to move. To accomplish this I am encouraging bundling your purchases by giving 5% off any purchase of 2 items if each are over $50 and I will give 10% off your total purchase if you buy 3 or more items that are each over $50. Also, shipping to contiguous 48 states will be included in the prices listed. If you are outside of that area, international or otherwise, please contact me before 7pm tomorrow to make arrangements for participating in the sale.

I have a strong preference for PayPal. Please use dixontj936 at gmail dot com to send your funds by Friends/Family (no fee) payment option. If you want to make alternate payment arrangements, again please make arrangements with me before 7pm tomorrow. Please note, do not send a PayPal payment unless you hear from me that you won the item. I will start notifying people of the status of their PM's at 10pm EDT / 7pm PDT tomorrow evening.

Over the next several hours I will begin to post pictures of all items. I will try to follow the order in the attached list to make it easy for everyone. In the picture posts I will add some color to the item such as my intended application (if it is not obvious), history of item, etc. There are also some "adders" and "packages" that some items come with; this will also be noted in the picture postings.

Final comment... I do not sell junk. In fact, you will see most of these items are like brand new. I really only attend three big launches a year and maybe one or two local low-power launches, so I don't fly a ton. Saying that, I do not keep records of how/when each piece of electronics has been used in each flight, but I will say none of the items being sold, if they have been used, were involved in a mishap that compromised the electronics and all items are functioning fully including programming interfaces that I have recently tested. I have sold a lot of items on TRF and have always offered to accept returns if anyone has problems with sale. No one has returned an item and I'm sure everyone will be satisfied with this large lot also.

Big Red Bee high power version (100mW) version of their very popular GPS transmitter. The device on the right is of their newer variety. During the sale I'll probably lower the price level of the older two, but still all three work well. Note that the transmitter comes with the programming/battery charging board, the SMA antenna and a larger battery. Package price at BRB is $284.

The highly popular Raven3 accelerometer-based altimeter with four channels with extended qualification/programming of each channel. The small profile makes it great for minimum diameter single or staged designs. NOTE: forgot to mention, these are all 70g, 2-axis boards.

Jolly Logic Altimeter2. Reports all primary characteristics for each flight. I use it as a "ride along" to get accelerometer measures when doing recovery with barometer-based altimeters like those from PerfectFlite or Missile Works. Bonus: snap-in carriers provided for each altimeter.

What are the dimensions of one of these? I'm having trouble navigating the BigRedBee site.

Marsa Systems flagship flight computer. Highly interactive via PC or on-board LCD. Has a broad range of bells and whistles from one of the smartest guys I know in rocketry. These are both near new with zero flights. NOTE: forgot to mention, I have one 50g and one 100g board; please specify when sending PM.
