I'm looking for a conductive adhesive. I know that JB Weld and Proline 4500 use metal to increase Tc, but I don't think they really conduct enough to close an EMI cage. Any help would be appreciated.
 
You want something like a paint-on EMC shield? I wouldn't be betting on it having much strength, but I may be wrong. Personally I would probably bond using the usual glues, and just spray or paint a coating on, if that's what you are after.

Search Google for something like "liquid aquadag" or "paint aquadag" and see what you find. Look for something with high conductivity.
 
What are you trying to shield?

I suspect he wants to Shield his deployment Electronics from a high Rf field. If the tracker is in the nose cone of a conventional dual deploy rocket, there will be an RF null, behind the nose cone with a forward facing antenna. There could be issues if the deployment electronics are sensitive to RF and the tracker is higher-powered above 100mW. Personally, I would do an all up test with the electronics unshielded and see if there were issues. If the contained e matches popped or the altimeters Recycled or shut down, I'd look at different Electronics. If I couldn't substitute the electronics for something more resistant then I'd look at shielding and be very, very careful. Kurt
 

This might work. It is the inside of an iPhone 6. I stripped one of the last screws to be tightened down on the shield extension near the antenna attach point.

Phone doesn't seem to be degraded operationally, but when screen is displaying white background you get a small (very small) area of ghosting on the display (typical of EMI emission) right where that screw should be cinched down.
 
The copper foil is typically used in electric guitars. Works very well there.
 
Ditto on the copper tape.

It's used like duct tape for some EMP environments, so it'll probably be fine for sport rockets.

Stupidhead me! I have rockets on the brain! Didn't occur to me you needed it for another application. Only thing I'd mention is make sure the copper tape doesn't short out anything inside the phone. You'd have a positive smoke test and a blank
screen rather than just ghosting. Good luck on the fix. Kurt

The aluminum tape used for sealing ducts should work fine and be locally available.
Can you repair the screw hole with a drop of epoxy and replace the screw?

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. Even thread lock should work, as even with no threads on these #0 screws, it is a tight fit. I just then need to get a seal on the captive nut on the board to the top can.

The copper tape (and aluminium less so) is used for EMC compliance, typically for when working out where the leaks are. The final solution does not use tape usually, as it is not seen as a good production process.

Use the copper tape for your easiest solution. Always smooth the edge of the tape from the middle outwards. Do not run your finger along the edge or you will end up with a badly sliced finger. Speaking from experience!
 
If you go the copper tape route but don't need a whole roll, pm me. I have some copper tape that is 3/8"(?) wide that I bought for a project some time back and used a couple inches. And yes it cuts.
