So, has anyone heard what may become of Sheri's line of rockets? Seems to me they are presently OOP for the time being.

I know that. I'm wondering what will happen to the line now.

Sorry. Didn't know you knew that.

I talked to Dave in person recently and I seriously doubt anything is going to happen with that product line anytime soon.

No plans to sell her line to anyone?

I suspect he probably would have mentioned that to me if that were his intentions but he didn't bring it up and I didn't ask. Didn't feel like it was an appropriate question to ask at the time. However, if I hear anything I'll pass the information on.

I't would be a shame just to let it all rot if you know what I mean.

I would suggest that you make an offer and buy SHR yourself... but he might accept your offer, you'd send him your money, and a week later you wouldn't have heard anything back so you'd email him, another few days with no reply you'd email again, after two full weeks of nothing you'd try calling and would get no answer...

I was trying to be funny.

It had briefly crossed my mind (that's "briefly") but I don't need any extra income in my position nor the hassle of running a business since I'm retired. Too many obligations that I know I'm not of the mind to fulfill. Being here, being there, answering phones and emails, no thanks. I'd like to believe some enterprising individual/individuals would take it up and turn it into something beneficial for the rocketry crowd. I'm not the guy. As I see it, these models are for all practical purposes OOP now and that makes them collectible.

I always wanted to buy the shuttle kit that she sold, but I doubt its still available?

Keep your eyes peeled like me. I'd like the Saturn 1b and the Mercury Atlas myself. Been perusing ebay for a number of months now and no luck yet. And that's with ANY of her stuff.

While I can't say this for certain, I'm pretty sure the SHR stock is gone.

You could very well be right. Perhaps I'm being too hopeful. If we keep an open discussion about the future of Sheri's line, we may eventually get some answers from inquiring minds. Yes, they want to know.

Given what the situation seems to be like, perhaps the best outcome would be if he could find a buyer for the Sheri line, and sell for a reasonable amount. Some motivated buyer willing to bring back the line. Not knowing any details, most likely there would be a lot of new molds that would need to be made (I do not even recall, did Red Arrow even get the Sheri line of scale models back into production?). Not a lot of people who would be candidates for that..... scale builder, parts caster, and wanting to be in the business of selling big scale models, mostly HPR sized.

And frankly some aspects of the Sheri's kits were awfully "rough". The concrete form type tubing , "fuzzy paper", that was overkill heavy something like Little Joe-II, requiring lots of special care to make it smooth. Some kit-makers would not like to drag down their overall kit quality with "Builder's kits" like that. That was a too flippant excuse for sub-par quality, as though a "real builder" would love to screw with turning a sow's ear into a silk purse. Or an overkill-heavy model that required at least double the engine power ($$) it ought to.

I can say that I saw a lot of the SHR line as Dave was making it. He was definitely trying to improve everything from the plans to the tiniest of parts in every kit and converting tubing to more standard rocketry stuff. Also, I know he sold some. Even some of the Sat V models.

https://www.rocketryforum.com/showthread.php?127639-Sheri-s-Saturn-V/page2 Starting with post #38 I began having problems with RAH's Saturn V. It went rather downhill from there with missing pieces and a CM that would not fit into the SM tube. I got by just fine with the MR but the Saturn was an entirely different beast.

PS: I might also add the aft interstage had to be trashed as I was getting a good 3/8th gap or so. I had to make one from scratch as a replacement.

I'm very glad to hear that. It would make those kits more viable to bring back, if anyone was willing to do it and had the $.

Its not worth much anyways. What does the line offer. I would retool everything if I had it

I mean the new buyer would have to go through everything to make it work. I would do, but wouldn't pay much for any of it. As some mentioned the tubes were junk and nothing fit right.

While building Sheri's Hot Rockets you had to put LOVE into the build. With all the flaws you must go to the radio and crank Lady Ga Ga's BAD ROMANCE song. The SHR Merc Redstone was my first high power build and taught me a lot, after that I was no longer a HPR virgin! GOTTA LOVE THOSE ULINE TUBES! Who needs recovery room or a shoulder on the nose cone, that tube is almost bullet proof! MEMORIES - some good, some bad.
