JimZ's site is down right now. I need the instructions, fin templates (preferably with a ruler), and the decals (again with a ruler) to re-attempt this .ork file. PNG files work best for me, and as high a DPI as possible (600 is best, 300 works too).

Thanks!

Thanks for that!

Now I just need to know a dimension on the decals so I can scale from that. How about how wide the yellow bands are (between the "No Lift" and "Lift Here" decals).

Pointy Side Up!
Jim

I'm about to start a build of this one. Tube and nose cone are here. I'm worried about beveling the fins. That's going to be my challenge.

The distance, center to center on the details on the yellow band, should be 1/4 the circumference of the BT.

I've actually got a set of decals for a Phoenix already (sitting inside of a shipping container with the rest of my rocketry stuff).

I kinda got busy with getting my place ready for a visitor, so I haven't had a chance to work on the .ork for a few days, and I may be offline (mostly) until the beginning of Sept. My mom is coming to China on Thursday, and we'll be touring with Road Scholar until the 31st.

Uncle Mikes Rocket Shack use to sell decals for the Phoenix 2.6" (Estes) Tube.
Might want to check there for a set.

Couldn't locate it via search. That site is very confusing to me. Almost never find what I'm looking for. If you find the link, I'd appreciate a share of it.

Does anybody know the Length of the BT 80,s for this kit?

There are two different versions of it according to the body tube reference... one has two BT-80 body tubes (one 14.2" and the other 7.6"), along with a BT-50H (7.75" motor tube), and the rerelease has two 11 inch BT-80 body tubes (with a 8" HBT-1000 motor tube).

When I built mine, I used a hobby plane to shave the fins super sharp. I then soaked them in super-thin CA to toughen them. John Boren of Estes posted info on a hobby plane he used to taper the fins on the big Honest John (big, as in the BT-60 version). He is into RC and it's a common tool for the airplane crowd. I'll try to find that post.

Do you have access to the instructions for the second one?

Why do I get the feeling that all my work on these sims was lost in the HD crash of Sept. 2016?.. Oh, yeah... It was.

You need to ship me that drive and let me see if I can recover it lol.

Heard back from a John Boren. His is the David Combi Plane. Here is a link I found.
