I have a shroud with Mobius mounted to the side of my PML Callisto. How do I reproduce this in Rocksim so that I can sim with some level of accuracy? The lower altitude flights are not off as badly but as I fly higher the delta increases quite a bit. My last flight should have been 2259 ft. from Rocksim but was actually 1759 ft. from the onboard Altimetertwo.

Thanks.

You can try fudging it with a pod, extra fin, or giant launch lug. People like the fin-on-fin and pod capability of Rocksim, mainly for design and appearance. I am not sure how good the drag estimate is though.

The camera shroud add some serious, non-symmetric frontal area to the rocket. Maybe you can override the frontal area that Rocksim is using for drag to something bigger. That may be good enough.

Your sim vs. A2 result probably includes more than just the camera shroud effect. Lots of things to go wrong, most you can't control. If you get within 10% agreement, call it good and move on. The motor burn variation can be more than that.

I'd put a pod on and add a fin with the proper dimensions. Like Buckeye, I'm not so sure how accurately it will sim but is better than nothing. I've designed some crazy stuff in RockSim using pods and they have worked out well enough.

That's the ticket. I added a single fin as close to the dimensions of the camera shroud and now my last flight in Rocksim shows 1878 ft while the altimeter showed 1759 ft. The previous now shows 1356 ft in Rocksim and was 1293 ft on the altimeter. I'd say that's pretty good now.

Thanks.
