I am not using mine for the foreseeable future, would sell it except they started making the new ones so much shorter. So if I ever buy a new one, it will be the short type, and I think it was better the way it was before.

Sounds like Jimw21 has you covered though!

I've got a couple of the new shorter adapters, 54 to 38 and 38 to 29. I've used the 54 to 38 many times with cases up to 6XL. They work beautifully.

Why not just get a couple 54x38 centering rings, and a length of 38mm tube then make it the way you want it???
Gotta have a thrust ring for the adapter. And how do you retain the 38mm motor in the adapter?

The products linked to do both - have a thrust ring and provide for retention.

If it was easy anybody could do it!

My mistake, I forgot to add a 38x3" ring for a thrust ring. And you would want to use 38mm tube, not coupler. The motor wont fit in a coupler. If you are worried about retention, drill appropriate holes in the thrust ring and use your existing nuts with wider washers, or different clips. I have even friction fit an adapter, then friction fit the motor into the adapter.

My point is motor adapters are not high tech or difficult to make. Don't over think it.... I have some that I have bought, but I also have some that I have made.

The ones you buy are a tube and rings of some sort. Just a motor mount designed to slip in and out of a motor mount. Same-same........
