How about a little nostalgia .
Who remembers the Tiny T Drag race at Airfest I believe 2002 or 2003 ?
Well I do and want to do it again.

Join us at AirFest 2016 for the Tiny Pterodactyl Drag Race, sponsored by Wildman Hobbies and Public Missiles.

Your entry fee gets you a Tiny Pterodactyl kit with a payload section added. Contest rules are
•You must fly as part of the event at AirFest on the designated race day
•You must use the original body tube, nose cone and fins (not as nose weight or fillets - Crazy Jim, this means you)
•You may use the additional 6" of airframe and a PML coupler with end caps for an altimeter bay
•Use (or not) of the supplied, or other, motor mount is at your discretion
•The rocket must be returned to the Race RSO at least 1 hour before the close of the range on the day of the race
•The winner is the flier with the highest reported altitude as determined by the Race RSO
•Per host club request, no thermite may be used as part of this race

The winner will receive either a 4" or 7.5" PML Pterodactyl kit, depending on the number of entries.

The cost is only $64.95 + shipping

Is there a designated motor or can I use this entire rocket as the nose stack on a 3" minimum diameter booster?

I'm not sure the quantum tube airframe would appreciate it, though you didn't specify how much of the rocket must be returned. :D

yea maybe the bag the kit comes in will fit inside my ultimate wildman?

Tim,

I know PML will generally substitute phenolic airframe in place of Quantum at the request of the customer...would this be the case here? Could I get a phenolic Tiny T? Don't want to melt the Quantum tube .

-Eric-

If Eric gets a "Quantum Pass", I want the same. And PML can keep the motor mount bits.

I'd like to try to make it out there this year (probably not though as it's still busy time at work for me). But definitely next year. Another problem is that my rocket "wife"'s job as a school teacher starts the last week of August, so he just can't say "Hey I'm taking off the second week on the job"...
So we'll see. Maybe a bit more long term planning is in order and we'll shoot for next year. Maybe Distant Thunder '16 or KLOUD Burst 26 will have to suffice. Plus I hear the weather would be more hospitable during those launches...
Have fun peoples! I want videos of the Tiny T launch!

You have a rocketry wife? Where she at?
...
Definitely want to make a trip out there sometime, though. Dream field and all... I'd have to build a special project for the trip.

OK, maybe you're not my wife, maybe I'm the wife... :eyeroll:
But I ain't gonna try to drive out alone... I tend to sleep on long boring drives (while still at the wheel).
As far as the special project goes, I think I got that covered; Wildman Wild Thang Extreme and my shiny new Dr Rockets 75/6400 motor....
What flavor motor tho... Have to get it built and run some sims...
