Hi I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself. I'm Josh and I'm not completely new to this...
I was first introduced to Rocketry at a young age while at summer camp. They had a great Rocketry program where you could spend the week building and painting your own custom rocket and then launch it at the end of the week. My first launch was a success although the same can't be said for my rockets paint job. lol
Soon after I started building kits with my dad and would bring them to camp for launches. The most memorable being my SR-71 Blackbird. It's first launch was a success from what I heard...I had dropped the rocket off but wasn't actually at camp the day of the launch. I made sure I was present for the next weeks launch. I was ready to watch my blackbird soar...well that's not quite how it ended up. It launched maybe 15-20 feet in the air with an exceptionally large flame coming from the BT and headed straight for the ground in a ball of fire. My blackbird was toast but it's still by far my favorite launch.
For years after I built a hand full of custom rockets and launched with my dad but at around 13 the R/C bug bit me and I said so long to Estes. Today I'm picking this back up as a hobby mostly because of the affordability to "coolness" ratio especially when compared to R/C!!
Glad to be here!
