Definitely cool...you need to get one of those action figures as well. I remember my EK stunt cycle it was the bomb toy to have at the time and they were cheap back then. Under $10

Would love to replicate the "rod" angle for launch, but that would break NAR rules

You might get an exception as long as you are aiming it at the side of a canyon. :wink:

I had the original Centuri kit.
Replaced the cardboard fins with balsa...made the parachute a rear ejection ..flew pretty good.
Recovery was nose down.....trailing smoke, like the real one.

Love to see a larger one.

A few months back I saw someone had listed a partially built one on Ebay...main body and rear fins and motor section completed. It was so large that it was sitting on a one of those radial flyer wagons and you almost couldn't see the wagon anymore! Might have been a 10-12" main body tube! I think it also had one main center motor mount and two smaller mounts above and below. :eyepop:

It was local pick up only, so I didn't even give it thought...well, maybe a bit to see how insane it would've been to drive that far. I'll tell you though...if it was even remotely within reasonable driving distance I would've been on it.

I got to be online buds with Scott Truax, the son of Bob Truax, designer of the original Skycycle. I gave my support to the recent jump made by Eddie Braun and became reacquainted with my old scratch-built D-powered Evel Knievel Skycycle, built in 1975. I bought a 3D printed copy of the new Evel Spirit rocket along with several copies of the blueprint. I set about buying the parts and materials I needed to build a more accurate version of Scott Truax's rocket. It's slated to be a winter project. The blueprint in the first pic is my CAD drawing of the new vehicle. It will be F & G-powered. The other pics are my original built in 1975.

Not sure about the model, but the full scale had what Evel called a "Shock Igsorber" on the front.
It landed under chute in a nose down attitude.
