Can I get a head count on my Friday helpers?

I have a bunch to get done and could use a few sets of hands.

I won't make it down until at least 6pm. Definitely willing to help then, but not sure if you'll still be doing setup then

The Gross family will be running a little late, we can probably get to out there about 9:00 pm. If too late to help set up, may be in time to help drink.

Mike

I am off work all day but 4hrs away. Let me know a time and I can determine a time to leave so I can help. Do Tim and Jackie need help setting up for the cook out as Tim shoulder may still my work all the way?

Also, I've got a Punisher on K1200 and Drago on H399 I want to get up Saturday, but other than that, I'm free to man LCO/RSO, whatever we need.
That leaves you free to fly... So, I'm expecting big things from you, Jason. And Steve. I want to see Steve fly something bigger than a Jr. for once...
I'll also be pitching in and helping Nick get ready for his L2, but that might be finished on Friday night at the hotel.
As far as Sunday, I'm planning on my L3 flight Sunday morning, looking at weather. Once that's done, I'm free to LCO/RSO again.

Preston has a 54-4 grain white for my Punisher 4 and I *may* put together my M-3700 for Eclipse SS for Sunday. Wind forecast for Saturday is FUBAR at the moment, Sunday looks flyable... we shall see what shakes out weather wise.

With no disrespect.

Phil Lynott 1949-1986 RIP.

Guess who just got back today.
Them wild-eyed boys that had been away..
Haven't changed that much to say...
But, man i still think them cats are crazy!

They were asking if you were around.
How you was, where you could be found..
Told them you were living north of town...
Driving all those Farmers crazy!

The Boys are back in town...
:D The Boys are back in town! :D

Spread the word around.
Guess who's back in town..

And, that time over at Jason's place.
That redhead chick got up and, she slapped Gusser's face..
Man! We just fell about that place...
If that chick don't want too go...Forget her!

The Boys are back in town...
:D The Boys are back in town! :D

Saturday night they'll be dressed too kill.
Up at Timmy's shop and, grill..:point:
Fireworks will fly and, goldfish will be killed...
And, if the boys fly *Monza Style* you'd better let them!

The Boys are back in town...
:D The Boys are back in town! :D

(INSERT GUITAR SOLO) That's ME on Guitar! ;):headbang:

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:BULL$#@% !:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

:sigh:

Those concert speakers on the deck blasting out my favorite song.
The nights are getting warmer, won't be long..
Won't be long till summer comes...
Now that the boys are here again!

The Boys are back in town...
:D The Boys are back in town! :D

As much as I'd like to help Friday, I'm all out of vacation time. I had to use it when we were slow doing 32 hr weeks to get me to 40.
They dole it out 10 hrs a month. I'm hoping I'll have enough time saved by Midwest Power to take off Thursday and Friday.
To make matters worse, I gotta cut out early this Sunday as I'm traveling to Atlanta for work... I'm gonna help some dude with hi L3 though...
What's his name???? E rick, I think...
So I apologize to Jason. I was hoping to be more available.
See you there Saturday morning.

Adrian

Hey now! No bad vibes here! As shown below, winds are clearly at 19.99 mph -- just fine for any QCRS flyer!

I'm seeing 17mph with 25 gusts on NOAA, so I guess it's flyable. Will be watching though.

Tracker??? Who needs a tracker?
I'll tell you where your rocket will land right now. No tracker needed.
It'll land...
...
...
In the field. Or the creek. Or the road.
Boom.
Solved.
Free of charge.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......!:jaw:

The weather looks good as far as rain goes. Now if we can keep the wind away.

I wanted to take a few seconds and remind everyone that QCRS is running the club under the Tripoli rules and we will follow all Tripoli Research rules. If you notice any changes and have any questions about them, please feel free ask me and I will help you out. We have been running the launches this way for all of this year and have had great success with the transition. Hope to see you all there and looking forward to a nice 2 day getaway

Ahhhhhhh,

I'd like a little more detail please like this: https://www.rocketryforum.com/showt...-Mapping-Program-Update&p=1573624#post1573624

I am just itching to test this system again and plan on bringing the rocket, EggFinders and several tablets. The H250
puts it up in the 3500 to 3700' range so it will be out of sight for a bit. One of two things happened on the test flight,
either the GPS tracker doesn't perform well in ballistic flight or the stock nosecone attenuated the signal.
I did a ground test and had a very strong signal coming in at 1/2 mile with the tracker 8 feet up in the air, hoisted up in a tree, in a cluttered neighborhood. I did get those 2 or 3 packets on descent during that test flight though so that made the save.
I'll use all the powder that comes with the motor and I'm comfortable it will work this time.
I did a ground test with everything loaded up with the chute and Jolly Logic Chute release in place with two
2-56 shearpins. Stuck a canister ematch in the well of an empty motor casing and did the ground deployment
test with .8 grams of powder. Pushed the button, nosecone came off and chute came out with the rocket body
jerking forward 2 feet. I figured enough powder. For some weird reason, that didn't correlate with BP in
the charge well of the motor. So much for what I thought was careful testing! I'll use all the powder, try and
be liberal with the protection and call it good.
I like the Wildman replacement nosecone I got. Slightly red colored and translucent. I can see the flashing LED through the cone shroud. If I can get an H220 loaded and the grain drilled, I'll be ready for a second flight if the first is successful.
The program will post the GPS altitude on the map while in flight so it gives an altitude
indication. The Sirf IV GPS chipset is not known for accurate altitude but I have a salvaged
EggFinder with a Ublox GPS chipset that I can try in the future. It is known to be more accurate with GPS altitude. The Sirf IV forte' is position. I've seen the position nearly "dead on" more often than not on the MapQuest photomap. That's what one wants. Find the thing
and if flying with recording altimeters can download the data after.

Kurt

hahahahahahaha,,,
See,,
Now that's exactly what I mean,,,
you guy's are going to laugh your rears off all weekend,,
( and eat your rears off with Tim and Jackie ),,
I wannaaaa gooooo...

Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome....

Next time...

Teddy

"We" miss the Teddy Bear already...:sigh:

I know how you feel though, i caught a RARE cold two weeks ago (because somebody  didn't want to put a warm fluffy cap on his half bald hat holder one night at work) conveniently right before his vacation to Cleveland last week.

Soooooo.....here i am in Cleveland, sick off my assets in a motel room for a couple of days...

Wait a minute! That's :point: TWO double negatives in one sentence.

Just kidding... Really enjoyed the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and, A Christmas Story House while i was there.

Ted, i'm sure Justin will whip up something video wise to let everyone who can't be there see what happened in the end, rest up and, get well!

HEY! Claude contacted me last night! Finally got tired of all my nasty text messages...:D Said he was down in his Le' Basement Laboratory (behind Le' Wine Cellar) screwing together something EVIL, WICKED and, NASTY...

Never underestimate "The Claude".

That's what scares me...

Man I'm tellin ya Gus,,
this one kicked my arss..
I was sick for 10 days or so,,
let it run it's course..
felt better for 2 or 3 days,,
then this came on like gangbusters...
4 days ago I was going to go to the hospital,, I couldn't breath..
I just went to the doc and got an antibiotic script...
I just haven't felt like doing anything,, really run down..
I owe some people an apology,,
I set a record,, since I've been at "Onebadhawk" the longest
I've let an order sit is two days without responding or shipping and responding....
This time I had stuff sitting for 3 days...
Everyone's really nice though,, said no sweat...
Hey Gus,, by the way,, I'm one of the mindset you don't get sick from being cold ( no hat ),,
you get sick from coming in contact with a germ / bug....
Maybe you picked up something on the road or at the hotel ???
You guy's have a wonderful time this weekend...
Don't forget with all the hootin and hollarin I'll be there with ya,, lol...

Teddy

Kurt,
Is this good enough?  :headbang:

Yeah but I wan' it live...............from QCRS............ Mini-Midwest Power ?......er I forgot the number, one two or three?:confused2:

Incidentally, Altus Droid with the Altus Metrum family of tracking/deployment devices has the capability to download a watermarked version of the latest Google Earth map for off internet use. Have a live internet connection and one can use the latest map to plot one's position and rocket. The rest of us are stuck with Mapquest or line maps. :neener::grin:
