great looking rocket.looks like you spent some time on this one.is that a 24mm cluster?.

Here's my Viper IV. Pretty basic, prepped and set up for dual deploy. I put a keychain cam on it for one flight (2 F30's and 2 E9's).

Wow! That was cool RocketJunkie. You got a build thread for that bird?

Is that the Aerotech F30 sparky? If so, where did you get it?

No build thread, built fairly close to stock with a payload bay and altimeter bay in the coupler. Camera was a keychain cam electrical taped on.

Motors were 2 CTI Pro-24 3G F30 White longburns and 2 Estes E9's air started with Thermalite. Deployment was controlled by a Raven.

My son and my viper at CATO's viper drag race.....everyone else was on D12s....ooops I was on E75's

If you want to fly four of them, use the whole delay....you won't like anything else.

This looks awesome. Has it flown?

Hope nobody minds me bumping up this thread. I'm starting a KV3 clone build using blue tube and will post pics here. Hope to fly it on 3xK550's at LDRS35.

Here's mine all done.

Thanks.

Nope, I never flew it, as it just does not do anything to get me excited, let alone enough to want to waste 3 24mm motors on it.
I took the nose cone from it and chopped it down to make the cone I'm making right now for my SA-5 Gammon scratch build. The chute' that came with it was laughably small, not to mention having it's shroud lines sewn on wrong, so I fixed it and it now goes to my fiberglassed scratch built 24mm BT-60 AIM-120 AMRAAM.
I plan to give the body of the rocket away some day, as it only takes up space, and right now is one of the few rockets still in storage at my Mom's house.
It's a shame the fins are so wide, or I could just put it up for free in the yard sale section. Probably be a lot to pack it properly for shipping, so I'll have to give it away in person, and I don't know anybody, as I don't like to associate with people except for on the internet, so who knows what will become of it.

Come to think of it, it might be fun to launch it into my woods with the other "Rockets I don't like", if I can find a throwaway nose cone for it.
That would be worth the 3 24mm Motors!!!

Working on my King Viper III now. Hard to put in perspective how big this rocket is--nearly 10 feet long!

Would a LOC Tri-star qualify as a viper-sorta?!?

Not sure if the link will show

Finished my LOC Viper III.
001.jpg

First flight will be on three D12-5's.
003.jpg

[FONT=&amp]It came in 3.6 oz. overweight with a cold air baffle, kevlar shock cord and a 24" Top Flight chute. I used a bit of JB weld to hold a short piece of 6-32 all thread in the gap between motor mount tubes, with a washer and wing nut for motor retention. No internal thrust rings, so I added 1/4" masking tape to the D12's.

Viper3clipped.JPG I've loved the vipers since Ron showed them to me. The King Viper is a thrill to watch at big launches yet the Viper 3 is sweet for all around fun. Ron S. Told me once you cluster your hooked. Well must be truth there.
