I'm starting a new similar project and I'm looking for photo's of how the altimeter bay was set up.

I had set my Weasel up dual deploy..Flew it twice in that configuration, and it worked great both times..Got 'stoopid' on the last launch to launch it single deploy and swapped out the chute for a bigger one..It was too tight in the tube and didn't dploy and core sampled..will have to dig around tonight and see if I can find pictures of the e-bay...

Sounds good Jon, I got idea's in my head but would like to see what others have come up with.

I've done it but not successfully - only because my main charge was ineffective. Unfortunately, I cannot find any photos ATM of that project. If I have some time I will post them.

Ewallace had a similar project and posted pics on the old TRF.

You are looking for Eric Wallace. I have a DD Weasel with a Parrot in it, but no pics at this time. Hope this helps.

Is Eric a frequent poster here - I'd be interested in seeing the same thing, I'm planning on using the Weasal as a trainer for DD before I use DD in anything higher stakes - and want to be able to retrofit the DD, as at first I'm planning on flying it with standard deployment - for which the kit is already built.

Although your method at least gives me something to investigate in the meantime...

Thanks!

Paul

I guess we both will have to be patient and see if anyone cares to share some photo's with us. :(

Sorry but I am in the middle of re-vamping mine a bit. When I get closer to finished I will post some photos but right now it's kind of a mess. Just a little bit of advice, go with a smaller source of power than the standard 9v if you can. The biggest challenge for me was getting that battery to fit inside that uber-tiny 38mm coupler/ebay.

I am also working on my L2 which is 5.38" dia and feels cavernous.

Took some digging..lol..sorry for taking a while..

Here is the whole rocket..The silver band is where I had the port holes and the power lead exiting the tube..

Here is one end of the e-bay with the sled pulled halfway out..Had to offset the sled for spacing purposes(the altimeter is a Perfectflite HiAlt15k)..The 2 tubes below was an idea I was toying with in disassembling a 9 volt battery and stacking the 'cells' in the tubes for power..Did some further 'tinkering' and was able to get the full size 9 volt battery in there intact..

Hope this helps out...

I haven't forgotten about this thread either. I still don't have mine done yet because I am working on 10 different things at once. I'll post pics as soon as it's done.
