New Tripoli Prefecture in Indiana!

Tripoli Indiana is a new rocketry club located in Lafayette; IN. We will be holding our first launch April 26th north of Lafayette. The launch site is a corn/bean field that will serve as our fall to spring launch site and we have a request in for a 16,000’ FAA waiver. Due to the time of year, this launch may be cancelled if the farmer plants early.

We also have a summer launch site located on the south side of Lafayette that is a sod farm. Due to the proximity of the Purdue airport and homes in the area, we will fly under the new FAR101 rules up to a 3.3Lb. rocket and 125 grams of propellant.

We hope that if you are in the area, you will be able to join us for a launch.

:( Does this means Randy isn't coming to Michiana launches anymore? :(

Hey! Good luck Randy! I'm glad to see you guys got a field with a decent waiver.

You think it would be THAT easy to get rid of me? My parents live in South Bend, so I will still be up that way now and then. I'm sure it would be quite as much, but you'll still see me around. I would have been then last week if the weather would have cooperated.

We're still waiting on the FAA for the waiver, but I think we should hard back within the next week or so. We're asking for 16,000' , we'll see how generous they are with the airspace.

It is official, we have heard back from the FAA and we've been granted a 16,000' waiver! I think that give us the highest waiver in the state!

So, when's the first launch? Enquiring minds wanna know!
