Hi. Well, I've got most of the supplies I need for my next upscale. Just wondering if anyone has a 4" wide piece of 16" motor tube. I don't really need to buy a whole piece 'cause it will just sit around forever. Thanx in advance,

Tim

16" motor tube? awesome what are you building?...

Oh you mean body tube? LOL

Doh!! Yes I meant body tube. You know what I'm making, shhhhhhhh.

16" diameter?

Call local concrete tool suppliers and find out who sells SonoTube. They'll sell short lengths.

Several years ago, I bought 2 feet of 16" tube for under $30.

Another option is to make it yourself-
i'd get some birch wood veneer (usually available in 8' lengths and various widths-6", 12" ) from the hardware store and slit it into 4" widths, then spread wood glue or epoxy all over one side of it and glue it into hoop of whatever diameter you need. it will easily take a 3" radius and with care a bit less, so you should have no trouble. Of course you can use paper or other materials, but if you need strength but light weight a few layers of birch is an excellent choice.

Hey Kevin,
full length sonotube (8' long) sells for about $8-14 each 'round here, for 5" to 12.5" diameter...Sorry to point it out, but it sounds like you might have paid for the full length tube even if you only took home 2' of it

Yep, you pay a cut fee.

Though I don't think we can get 12" x 8' for $14 -- I think it's currently about $30.

A full length 24" is only around $80 - $100.
