Mega's tubes fitted together and drilled for bolts. Altbay assembled and finished. Coupler and Bp Glued in for recovery harness in payload.

Decals are 90% finished just the nuclear ones left.

Both N-10000 drag racing Ultimate Wildmen finished!

Iva drag racer almost finished.

1 UWM prepped and primed.

3 in Wildman prepped and primed.

Iva primed.

Not bad considering we are now in our 9th day and MUST be totally finished by Wed. [2 more days]
Have to start to fit all in trailer and leave FRI! for launch in Iowa. Leave from there Sun. for LDRS!

Another very long rocket day!

Well let's see:

Today lots of detail work.

Uni strut buttons went on [3].
20ft chute and nomex installed and with 60in. drogue and all shockcord and harnesses.
Y harness on both fincan and alt-bay.
More decals.
Vents drilled.
Couplers fitted and taped.

"O" [hardware] motor came in and thank God it fit the MM. LOL

Here is a pic with Tim, just to show the scale of this beast.

Sorry can't post any assembled, finished pics just yet. But there are coming soon!

It is one gorgeous shiny rocket.
The flight should be spectacular on the 8.5 second burn skid!

An interesting footnote:

These all glass tubes weigh virtually the same as PML glassed phenolic, but many times stronger!

Note the soda and grill for scale.

Or me for overdue on a scale.LOL

Nothing on the Mega today. Worked on Iva [finished everything and started finish paint] and other odds and ends. You know how easy it is to blow a day on 20min here.....30 there..... started packing stuff for the road.

Mostly getting orders ready for LDRS. Got to leave FRI. and have everything ready.

That's nuts :D

I thought my 98mm case was big, but that thing is HUGE. I'll be curious to see the Pro150 hardware at LDRS.

Nice pants, Jim...

BTW, have Tim haul that hardware to AirFest -- I'd like to take a look at it. I think Tim should fly the Mega there, too.... :)

You guys have done a really nice job on this "little" project!

-Kevin

Don't let 'em give ya any #### about the PJ's....

We were up till midnight painting the NC after a day of assembling all the Wildman kits for LDRS.

Actually leaving tonight for a launch in Walcott Iowa. Then on Sunday from there to LDRS. See ya'll there!!!

Crikey that's a bunch of rocket stuff!:eyepop: Bet the UPS/FedEx drivers love making deliveries there!

'Dagnabit! I got a delivery at Tim Lehr's place!&$^#%@!!!

Keep us posted on what goes on,,'

And, no hitting any deers!!!!!;)

Or swerving to miss it and hitting a guardrail!!!!:dark::p

Hey, Jim? No need to get all fancy with kits and stuff.... Just stop through here on your way, and unload the stuff. I'll take care of it.... :D

Whoa....Stop the presses!

I was just contacted by Viperfixr [Mark Rose] currently stationed at Kandahar Afghanistan.

He is sending the American Flag flown over the airfield and possibly[if time permits] in planes flown in couple of missions.

He would like us to fly it in the Mega, possibly having it unfurl on the shockcord during deployment.

How cool is THAT.

Just hoping he can get it to us in time.

Please remember all our fine troops protecting our freedoms in your thoughts and prayers.

OK, I'm a little late to the party, but that is friggin awesome.

Thanks to Mark for his service to this great nation. Flying that flag will be an awesome tribute to our troops.

This is disappointing. LDRS comes closer to me than ever and I still can't make the trip. Now you're going to tell me their is a 6 inch J drag race, along with this darkstar, another N10,000 drag race AND the Mythbusters?
:bang:

And a P. =) We got the waiver approved and delivered yesterday. Build thread for the rocket is linked below.

Looks like the Mega got it's 15 minutes of fame last night!

15 for Tim :D
15 for CJ
and
15 for DarkStar :dark:

Not bad, was a very good show, maybe a little stuck on the race go boom, but still good PR for Rocketry. :pop:

Well done!

The closest I've ever gotten to Tim is his signature on my wildman rocketry order bill lol.
