Okay folks, going out on business to Wichita within the next month . . . what rocketry related stores are out there? And anything else I shouldn't miss?

Why couldn't they have timed this with Argonia?

If you can be in the Wichita/Argonia area on October 7th, you could come to the next KLOUDBusters fun fly.

Yes, the Kansas Cosmosphere is within 40 miles of Wichita in Hutchinson.

Exploration Place in Wichita is a science center that is pretty cool. Large parts of it are child-oriented, but there are some intriguing exhibits there. The Tyrannasaurus Rex "Sue" will be on display this fall, https://www.exploration.org/.

There is a small aviation museum adjacent to McConnell AFB, https://www.kansasaviationmuseum.org/

For nightlife/entertainment/dining the Old Town district is popular https://www.oldtownwichita.com/

Of course, a launch at Argonia Oct. 7th is a must if you are here.

What are the planned dates of your trip? For which program(s) are you coming?

Sorry, to miss yet another Argonia meet. Well hopefully next Labor Day.

I'll be in town from Sunday the 22nd to Wed. the 25th. I'm visiting a friend at McConnell AFB, and have meetings during the day.

Any good hobby stores in the area, though?

I thought Boeing might be sending you here. My bad.

There are several hobby stores, but mostly what I would call run-of-the-mill places. As mentioned above, the #1 rocketry shop is Science Education Center and it is not very far from McConnell or Boeing. Proprietor of the shop, Mark Logan, is a 1st class nice guy and in addition to rockets has a great line-up of telescopes in the store. Definitely worth a stop. There's a shop in the same strip mall that specializes in model railroading called Engine House Hobbies, and the Hobby Town on East Kellogg has an extensive section on RC cars, planes, and etc.

HTH, ---Lance.

llickteig1, my bad. I didn't see you're reference to Boeing sending me. They are, for the Tanker program. I'll be visiting a friend towards the evening times.

Thanks for the heads up on things to see and do. I really enjoy traveling and haven't seen much of the states at all, so this'll be fun.

Cool. I'm working on some stuff right now for the Tanker programs myself; one of those interesting situations where I've worked on a program for 2+ years but I haven't even seen the plane(s). Lots of folks keeping busy on those birds.

Lance I've sent you a PM. We may have to meet up while I'm there.
