Put on a wrap!
Estes Fat Jax, before/after.
Replaced damaged tube, was going to spray yellow paint like the original.
Remembered I had a few sheets of holographic adhesive film lying around.
And my orange scratcher. Needed something to jazz it up.
I watch guys wrap cars with the stretch type of wrap and wonder if it can be done to a NC? They use a knifeless tape which really hides a butt joint/seam.
3M makes great stuff
I have access to a vinyl printer (of some kind?) at work. It can print on many different sizes. It rarely get used, and I can use it whenever I want. Maybe someday, I will learn how to use it (and the CNC machine that's brand new)!
I have not perfected it, but got an ok result with a Big Daddy. Having a very good base coat of paint and all edges sealed and impervious to water will help. Even better, fiberglass rockets!
I've been meaning to try swirl painting by hydro dipping but haven't gotten around to it yet.
Here's a video I bookmarked. Don't remember where I saved it from, probably a thread on this forum.
Wouldn't try it on cardboard and balsa though.
