The B-2 Bomber Looks Positively Alien In These Images
Even though it was based on 1980s technology, America's stealth bomber still looks like it is visiting us from another world.

I so wish I had a camera at the time but sadly I didn’t so missed the shot of a lifetime.
I was visiting family in Boise and Mtn. Home Idaho. Boise at the time had A-10s, Mtn Home had F15s and F 16s.
Driving between Mtn. Home and Boise I glanced out over the guard practice range and noticed a flight of 2 F15‘s, 2F16’s, 2 F18’s, A10s, 1 B2 and 1 B1.
the formation was B1, B2, followed by 1 on each wing of the A10, F15’ 16 and 18.
Off in the distance was a single KC135, and... I. had. No. Camera!!!!

As a former McDonnell Douglas employee and having lots of friends who built the B1 locally, I would have loved to see that.

To quote a former colleague of mine "and you can bet the A10 has the throttle maxed trying to keep up while the rest are stepping on the brakes"

I thought that very thing watching them! Out of all of them I still think the A10 is the most awesome. The F18C‘s are sexy little sports cars, the F 15 the work horse, the rest are pretty cool, but man that A10!

I've been treated to a low level B-2 flyover several years ago.
The moment had had the total WOW factor.

What, no stealth fighters!? :D Sounds like either an Ark (lol - 2 of everything?) or some promotional pics?

When was this? I know Hill AFB had their main runway re-done and many planes went to ID somewhere for the summer - I think it was 2 summers ago? They could've met up then??

Still, VERY impressive site! I hope you learned your lesson young man!! 🤣

"Huxter, post: I hope you learned your lesson young man!! 🤣

I’ve not been called a young man in quite some time! I do pass for one though.
I’m 60, most guess my age to be middle 40s. You should see the look on the faces when I tell the new hires I have been at my company for over 30 years!
I do usually have some form of a camera with me, not much to see between Mtn Home and Boise. Having grown up there the most interesting thing now is Christmas Mtn. There used to be an old Titan site just outside Boise you could get down into.
As far as when this was....Had to have been 5 maybe 6 to 7 years ago.
I‘ve not been back to Idaho in around 5 or so years.
It was interesting that all the planes minus the F-18s were Air Force.

Living as close to Wright-Patterson A.F.B. as I do, and as close to the NMUSAF, I've seen the B-2 fly over numerous times and You DON'T hear it until it is right upon You. And indeed, compared to the other AC at the museum, the B-2 DOES look quite alien!!!!!!!! It's one of my favorite A/C.
