I am new to building and a little confused on terms used in the assembly instructions. They use "glue" and "yellow glue" (separate from plastic cement). Is this just standard wood glue? Thanks!

Yes, standard water resistant (or waterproof) wood glue. I prefer Titebond II.
If you are building the Estes Saturn 1B I strongly encourage a review of this video, as specific adhesive recommendations are made.
