Yes, sold in Jonson Smith's catalog and comic books. Carbide pellets are put in with some water to make a gas that can go Kaboom !
I have a similar BP small black powder cannon that the barrel is about 20mm if that, you put in BP , a Waddding, and fuse in the back. Boom ; have not used it in 7 years or so
