This is a preliminary review of two new kits from Peter Alway since I only purchased them yesterday.
The first of two new kits from Peter Alway (Saturn Press, Rockets of the World)
This is a BT-50 sized (1/4.6 scale) model of the famous ARCUS research rocket.
This is a a fairly tiny model as "scale" model rockets go being only .976" and 19 3/4" tall.
This appears to be a simple kit with all the features that all you "old timers" love in a real builders kit.
A real balsa nose cone with a metal screw eye.
Not pre made but a build it yourself parachute using the old Estes checkerboard pattern. (he did that on purpose )
And very precise laser cut parts.
All the parts are accounted for and everything is neatly packaged in a plastic bag.
Since this is a Peter Alway kit, scale documentation is included.
It states, "Includes drawings suitable for entering model in NAR Sport Scale contest. You don't see that too often in a kit!
It flies on 1/2A3-4 to A10-3 13mm motors which makes it perfect for small fields.
This is just a prelude to a whole line of kits Peter will be coming out with.
These kits will be available through Basa Machining Services.
They are laser cutting all the parts.
At $15 this is a very precisely manufactured kit.
Shipping is a little high but is the same for 10 kits or one...maybe your local clubs can buy in bulk.
I will post more as I build.
