I got "Mr Light Head" done finally.

It's the fifth in my pumpkin series.

The fin section came from a crashed patriot rocket which I put
a new 54 mm MMT in.

The color might be odd but I did not really care, it's a night rocket.

Here's the rocket assembled.

... and the nose cone with lights going. It's better in the dark.

The top light is a car yellow emergency light that rotates. There
are other lights inside the pumpkin, some blinking, some not.
There is also a row of LEDs like a head band.

Thats cool, you gonna do a Halloween Launch with it!

I will fly it with a home made L , probably a Brilliant Blue motor,
at Midwest Power in October. I think that EX motors can be flown
Friday night.

Will-
Were you there last year for the Friday night launch? think it was Friday
One from, IIRC, Wisconsin with a red strobe on top postholed.
Very impressive thump. :D
Maybe Eric can post pics of his pumpkin.
I have a pumpkin like his but have done nothing with it.

Greg,

I will post pics of the Pyro Pumpkin tomorrow, don't have the files handy. I cannot attend MWP on Saturday this year, so I will do everything in my power to be there Friday night and on Sunday.

I did not have a night pumkin rocket last year. That was the
best flight that night. The night rocket I flew was the second
best. At least mine was one of the few you could track all the way
up and down. It was a four inch dia. and about 8' long with lights
in the NC, EB and bottom by fins as well as two on the shock
cord flying on a Redline. This rocket is my second pumkin night
rocket. Search for "Mr Top Hat" and I posted a picture of all the
series.

Now all you need is a theme song, this one's from the anime Cowboy Bebop...

Will,

Cool design; I look forward to the flight. Blue L: that should put that rocket up quite a ways! Single deploy or DD? I'm hoping all the crops will be out again this year. The tall corn at MWP 2 made recovery interesting at times.

"Mr Light Head" is pretty heavy so I am going to deploy main at
apogee. Also it has no upper section for a main. The chute will
have a spill hole but still the winds at night during the fall tend to
be very light here. I still have to do the calculations for stability
and altitude, been too busy.

Also thanks to Eric for posting the pumpkin shots, that was the
best night rocket last year at MWP. Even though my night rocket
that Friday night did not have a pumpkin it was the second best
flight.

Unfortunately it looks like the TQC club at MWP4 is not flying EX
friday night, so I won't be flying this rocket that weekend.
:(

I just can't afford a commercial L motor right now, my money is
going to my L3 rocket.

If any of you come to our launches at Metamora (PIARS club) I
maybe able to fly it at night some time on an EX, or at least at
our muscle launch in the spring.
